A
Grade 8' s graduate from E. Wawanosh Public
Ceremonies, of East Wawanosh
Public School were held on
Tuesday June 25 from seven to
nine in the evening.
. Graduates and their parents,
teachers and special guests were
present in the school auditorium.
Mr. W. A. Stevenson, principal
of the school, welcomed everyone
to the event and took the role of
Master of Ceremonies for the
night.
Donald Balcelaar, one of the
thirty-four graduates of 1974
introduced the head tables Mr.
Richard Orr then introduced the
graduates to the assembly. Rev.
John G. Roberts asked the
blessing for the excellent cold
plate banquet provided and
served by the Belgrave Womens'
Institute. They were thanked for
the fine meal by Mr. William
Elston.
The Shindigs provided musical
numbers for the people. This
group is composed of Grade Eight
graduates of this year. A new and
rising group known as Freedom
Three also performed.
Mr. Stevenson with the aid of
Mr. Orr, presented the following
Athletic Awards: Midget Girls -
Nancy Verbeek, Audrea Coultes;
Midget Boys - Kevin Koehler;
Rev. C.A. Falconer will be on
holidays for the month of July.
On July 14 Rev. Kenneth Knight,
a former Cranbrook resident will
be the minister. Services are at

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chapman
and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jamieson,
Kitchener, attended the funeral
of the late Chris Fischer and
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley
Fischer.
Mrs. Calvin Cameron
underwent surgery in St. Mary's
Hospital, Kitchener.
One of the oldest buildings in
Cranbrook, which was once the
cider mill operated by the late
Geo. Seimon, has been torn down
recently by Howard Mitchell.

The Girls Academic Award
from the Belgrave Co-op was
presented by Mr. Murray Loug-
heed to the top academic student
- Sheila Sholbrook.
Gary Hopper received the Boys
Academic Achievement Award
which is sponsored by the North
Huron Credit Union,
Mr. Jack Alexander expressed
greeting and congratulations to
the graduation class on behalf of
the Huron County Board of
Education. He then presented
Academic. Achievement trophies
to top students Sheila Shobbrook
and Gary Hopper.
Miss Joan Currie and Miss
Brenda Johnston gave a
combined presentation which was
very revealing to the students and
parents. They stressed the role of
the individual student in the
Secondary School System and of
the new friends to make, clubs to
join and the need of being in tune
• Mr. and Mrs. Ross Smith and
sons have moved into their new
house on 12th con.
The Cranbrook store is now
under new management, having
been purchased by 'Mr. WM.
Elliott, Goderich. Mr. and Mrs.
Elliott and daughters moved in
and Mrs. Mary Becker has gone
to Kitchener. We welcome the
Elliott family to Cranbrook. The
many friends and customers will
miss Mrs. Becker and good
wishes follow her to her new
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henry,
London, spent the weekend with
Mrs. Stuart McNair and all
visited Mr, and Mrs. Orlie,Shaw,
Mt. Forest, on July 1.

The 29th annual Nethery
reunion was held on June 29, at
the community hall, Londesboro,
with 70 signing the register.
Mr and Mrs. Terry Nethery of
Wingham were in charge of the
sports which were enjoyed by all.
Guests were present from
Yellow Grass, Sask., Niagara
Falls, Toronto, Hamilton,
Burlington, Goderich, Clinton
and surrounding districts.
Following the supper hour the
president, William Nethery of
R.R.1, Belgrave, took charge of
the meeting. Mrs. Grant Bearss
of Niagara Falls read a poem
which was a tribute to the late
Henry Leishman. Special prizes
were given by Abner Nethery of
Wingham to the oldest person
present, Albert Nethery of Handl,
ton, and to the person coining the
longest distance, Mrs. Mary
Chase of Yellow Grass, Sask. The
youngest baby present Was
Jeffrey Nesbitt of Auburn,
A vote of thanks was given by
Abner Nethery Of Wirigharn for
the annual gifts of salt which were
received' by all present from Percy
Barker Of Goderich and a vote of
thanks was given to Alex Nethery
of Burlington for a' treat of
Watermelon to the children.
