The April meeting of the unit
Was held on Wednesday
afternoon, at the home of Mrs.
Van Vliet's home in the village,
opening with the Thought for the
Day, "When I survey the
Wondrous Cross" was sung.
Mrs. Jim Williamson read the
scripture from Chapter 15 of
Mark followed with prayer by
Mrs, Van Vliet, and a poem.,"
Mrs. J. Williamson gave the
topic, "What the• resurrection
means to us". "Christ the Lord is
risen today" was sung and the
collection was received and
dedicatpd.
Mrs. Martin Baan conducted
the business. Minutes were read
and roll .call taken. Mr: Cliff,
Ritchie. gave the treasurer's
report '',and Mrs. Van Vliet the
miscellaneous report. Plans were
made for coming events and the
meeting closed with prayer.
A social half hour followed with
hula served by Mrs. J.
Williamson and Mrs. Van Vlibt.
8th and 16th Unit
Mrs. Alvin McDonald was
,hostess for. the unit meeting in
her home on Wednesday.
The Call to Worship was given
by Mrs. Jim Fritz. Hymn, "Jesus
Christ is Risen today" was sung.
The scripture from Chapter 26 of
Mark, verses 1 - 8 were read by
Mrs. Fritz followed by a poem,
"What Easter Meant to Mary
Magdaline,"
Mrs, James McDonald gayer'
the topic "The Easter Message,
Where seek ye the Christ".
Hymn, "Rejoice, the Lord. is
King" was sung. The Lord's
Prayer Was repeated in unison
closing the devotions.
Mrs. • George McCall was in
charge' of the business. The roll
cal was answered by eight
members. Mrs. A. McDonald
read the minutes in the absence
of the secretary, Mrs.Don
.McDonald: Upcoming events
were discussed. Further plans
will be made at the next meeting
for the ham supper on June 4th.
Tickets are still avajlable from
members of the unit.
. The meeting closed with prayer
followed by the hostesses serving
lunch.
Walter' if 4-H Meetings
• The third and fourth meetings
were combined for the Walton I
Club, the "Magic Mirrors" which
was, held at Margaret Shortreed's
home.
Weopened with the 4-H
pledge.. The iecretary'S report
was read,by Kim Humphries. The
roll call was answered by nine
members.
We discused storage in the
bedroom. Storage for make-up
and other grooming aids and also
storage for sports equipment was
discussed. • Different ' storage
resources like Walk in closets and
drawers were also discussed.
Mrs.Walson read us different
storage • methods, like laundry
bags, from the leader's pamphlet.
Then storage for accessories was
discussed. 'Such as scarves, ties
and belts may be kept in separate
,boxes in one drawer or in
separate drawers depending on
the quantity. How to improve
individual storage was discussed.
We filled .in our handout sheets
and talked over the home
assignment.
After lunch served by' the
hostess we closed with the 4-H
motto.
The fifth meeting of Walton I
was held in the community hall
with all clubs. present, on
Thursday, April 18th. • , •
