Dump trucks, more than any

need to improve their public
image 911 public highways, a
dump truck owner told a Toronto
seminar of fellow Ontario owners
this weekend.
Dan Stauffer, a director of the

haul dirty loads. When a car ,
driver sees debris on the road, he
assumes i' fell of a dump truck.
And often he's right."
Mr. Stauffer continued:
"While we can't do much about
the ugliness of our vehiele
designs, we can do much more to
reduce the public's negative
attitudes by properly covering,
loads, avoiding overloading, and
being more Conscious of our
driving behaviour.
"We are facing the typical
situation where a few thoughtless
operators are giving the whole-
business a bad name. And that is
our problem which can be
resolved by all of us showing
more courtesy in sharing the
roads with other users."
