The old saying "Take your boy
to the arena and stay and watch
him play" is great from a
financial point of view after all
how else do we keep our minor
sports operating, but when the
spectator crowd forgets the game
is for fun and can't say one good
thing for either team playing
they'd be better off at home. It's a
serius situation when the boys
would rather not go and play
hockey because of the attitudes of
the spectators. Give the situation
some se ,rious thought and let's
get the fun back in hockey for
both the player and the spectator.
The Atom "A" team played an
exhibition game in Palmerston
last Sunday evening and came
home with a 6 - 4 win over the
home town team who were having'
a Minor Hockey Day Tournament
in their arena.
They will return to that arena
on Good Friday where they will
participate in a tournament of
champions. The zone champions
from the W.O,A.A. area will all
be there to determine a champion
of champions in their category.
They will play their first game at 3

ENERGY AGREEMENT
Prime Minister Trudeau and
Canada's provincial premiers
reached a 12-month agreement
establishing a single national
price for domestic and imported
oil.
The Prime Minister and the
provincial leaders agreed
-to increase the price of Western
Canadian crude oil to $6.50 from
54.00 a barrel.
-the federal government will
continue to subsidize oil prices to
consumers in Quebec and the
Atlantic Provinces.
The increase in the price of
rude oil to $6.50 a barrel is still
about $4.00 below the world
price.
Following- the agreement,
Prime Minister Trudeau told a
press conference that 'it couldn't
be a better day for federalism.'
BILINGUALISM PROGRAM
Secretary of State High Faulk-
ner announced a five-year
renewal of the federal-provincial
program on bilingualism in
education.
The aim of the program is to
ensure that parents of either
official language have the
opportunity to educate their
children in their own language
and to enable students to learn
the other official ,language as a
second language. Some $70
million will be spent on the
program annually.
URBAN ASSISTANCE
The Liberal Government
recently won a vote of confidence
on its new $100 million urban
demonstration program. •
The program, inttoduced by
Urban Minister Ron
Basford, will provide funds for
such projects as a new sewage
system' to eliminate wastes
flowing into the Okanagan water
basin; complete redevelopment of
the Halifax waterfront; re-loca-
tion of the Oshawa airport and
converting it into 600 acres of
residential land; and new
methods to redevelop decaying
downtown areas in Canadian
cities.
Proposals for projects can be
put forward by, federal depart-
ments and agencies, by pro-
vinces, by municipalities, by the
private sector and by individual
Canadians.
