The first meeting of Walton I was held at the home of Mrs, Gerald Watson on Monday evening March 25. The meeting was called to order with the 4-H Pledge and the election of officers. Joan Bennett was elected President with Bev Stevenson as vice-president. Secretarial and press reporter duties will rotate. The leaders are Don Achilles and Mrs. Gerald Watson. "Images" was the main topic for the meeting of the project "Take a look at yourself". The meeting closed with the 4-H motto "Learn to do by doing" and the hostess .served refreshments. The second meeting of the Walton .1 club was held at the home of Bev Stevenson the following Monday evening opening in the usual manner. It was decided to call the name of our club, "Walton Magic Mr. and Mrs. John Sinith and family of Newmarket have moved onto the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dobson. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Evans and family and Miss Brenda Bateman and Mr. Jim McFarlane visited in Burlington with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fish on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Dunbar returned home from their trip to Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ellis have returned' home after spending the winter in Florida. They joined in with the sing-song at the beginning of the church service, then returned to the basement where Jeffery Hackwell gave the Call to Worship. Hymn 104 was sung with Laura Dennis as pianist. The scripture was read by pupils of Marg Bennett's class including Jeanne McDonald, Murray Sholdice, Blaine Hackwell, Elaine Dennis, Cathy McGavin and Peter Bennett. Prayer was given by Laura Dennis, followed by the secretary's. report. The treasurer's report was given by Dianne Godkin who took Fordwich and Rev. Stanley McDonald of Londesboro. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Pearson of Exeter spent the weekend with their mother, Mrs. Alex Pearson. Mrs. W. Krauter spent a few days in Brussels with Mr. and Mrs.Paul McDonald. Mrs. McDonald returned home from the hospital with their infant daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Les Allen of Collingwood visited for the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cunnigham. Mr. and Mrs.A. Bremner and Doris visited Sunday evening with Mrs. Bert Beacom of Londesboro. Dr. W.L.A. and Mrs. Wardlaw of Brantford visited Dr. and Mrs. D. A film strip on "Donald's Apple Orchard" was shown and the children went to their classes with the following teachers in charge, Mrs, Merton Hackwell,. Mrs. Mac Sholdice,Mrs. Ross Bennett and Mrs. W. Bewley. There were 38 in attendance. Personals Mr. Howard Hackwell was a patient in Listowel Hospital suffering from blood poison in his arm. He returned home last Tuesday. The annual meeting of the Walton Women's Institute will be held with a dinner. at 7 p.m. at the Winthrop United Church. There will be an exchange of gifts of the Sunshine sisters as the Roll Call, along. with the fee. Mr. William Bell was taken to Westminster Hospital last week for further treatment. , Miss Connie Coutts spent.a few days of her holidays with Miss Mimi Keating in Kitchener, she returned home with Connie to spend a few days at the Coutts residence. The ladies were busy quilting again last week at Mrs. Bill Thamer's home. Congratulations to Mrs. Maud Leeming who celebrated her 79th birthday on April 6th. She was entertained on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leeming. The Leeming family also Called on her Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Clark and son spent the weekend at Mr. and Mrs. John McGillvary, Dorchester. Mr. and Mrs. Ian Wilbee attended the funeral of a relative in Toronto on Monday. Elva is .remaining several days in Toronto .
