Women met Tuesday, Feb. 26 at
the home of Mrs. Murray
Johnston.. Nine members were
present. They quilted for the
evening. Mrs. Ross Nicholson
called the ineeting•to order. The
minutes of the ,last meeting and
treasurers report were read by
Mrs. Allan Campbell. Many
items of business were discussed
later. Mrs. MacDemaray read the
devotions. Mrs.
Murray MacFarlane gave the
topic, "You can beat those
February Blah's". Lunch was
served by MrS. Harold Johnston,
Mrs. Allan Campbell and the
hostess, Mrs. Murray Johnston.

Council meeting was held on
March 4th. Resolutions were
.passed as follows:
That the minutes of the last
regular meeting and special
meeting of February 18th be
adopted as read.
The Township of Grey
requested a supplementary
allocation of subsidy moneys from
the Ministry of Transportation
and Communications in the
amount of $31,360 for replacing
the Gill Bridge at Lots 20 & 21,
Concession II at an estimated cost
of $63,700 at their. March meeting
last Monday.
The tender of • Donegan's
Haulage Limited for crushing and
hauling approximately 30,000
cubic yards of 5/8" gravel at
$1.20 per cubic yard was accepted
subject to the approval of the
Ministry of Transportation and
Communications.
The Kistner Drainage Works
By-Law No. 67 of 1974 was
passed. -
Membership fee in the amount
of $30.00 be paid to the
Association of Municipalities of
Ontario.
Insurance policies were
renewed with the Frank. Cowan
Company Limited.
Clifford Bray was appointed
commissioners on the Bremner
Drain.
, An application for a loan of
$7,200 and an application for a
loan of $1,500 under The Tile.
Drainage Act, 1971 were
accepted.
The treasurer was instructed to
advertise for the sale of
debentures at 10% interest for
drainage works.
The hourly rate of pay of
Clarence M. Dennis, caretaker'of
the waste disposal site was
increased to $2.50 per hour
retroactive to January 1st, 1974
and the hourly rate of pay of Rose
Marie Bishop, part-time office
'assistant was increased to $2.2
per hour retroactive to January
1st, 1974.
Accounts paid were: General,
$3,060.89 and Roads and Bridges
5,122.26 for,a total of $8,183.15.
