House fire ruins- newly
redecorated rooms
A fire at the home ofMr, and.
Mrs. Wm. Wheeler of Brussels,
during the noon-hour last
Thursday, is -r eported to have
resulted in between $3,000 and
$4,000 damage.
The blaze itself, which erupted
in a stereo in an upstairs
bedroom, was confined to the one
room. Water and smoke caused
extensive damage to the rest of
the residence, on both upper and
lower floors, which will
necessitate major repairs to
ceilings, walls, etc. To make
matters worse decorating,
including a new rug which was
ruined, had just been completed.
• It was fortunate that the fire did
not occur at night. The. dense
smoke could have killed sleeping
occupants of the ,house before
they became aware of it.
Brussels firemen answered the
summons of the siren promptly
and brought the fire under control
in a short time. ... •

The problem of _dogs again
came under discussion. Some

An Open House on Sunday and

anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jack

Mr. and Mrs. White were

Members were asked to take this

Organized Sports, and in

the Sunday activities of Churches.
All congregations were thus
urged to "exercise their influence
in limiting the promotion of

communities on Sunday mornings
where at all practical, and to
accept their responsibility for
involving their children in
worship and Christian Education,
and other areas of the churches'
