in the Maitland on Saturday at the Brussels Lions Polar Daize. Charging into the
river to retrieve plastic jugs, some with money in them, was this hardy bunch.

Getting in practise for the Polar Daize Thunder Mug Races (it isn't as risky as it
sounds --- the thunder mugs are all perched on toboggans) . These two contestants
race around in the snow on Satur day.

On. February 19th the Brownies
and Girl Guides held a joint
meeting in the Library with a
good attendance of mothers
present.
The Brownies opened the
meeting with their Fairy Ring and
Thinking Day Collection. These
followed by receiving of several
badges to the following Brownies.

Girl Guide cup and saucer filled
with flowers on behalf of the
Guides and Brownies.
This was followed by the
presentation of the Guide 'of the
heart beats only eight times, a

summer.

Thinking Day Prayer. Taps were
sung' with Annette Dorsch
repeating the Guide Promise.

White spruce has been the only
