There is a wealth of unusual old architecture in Brussels. From time to time the
Post intends to publish pictures of interesting pre-1900 houses which catch our
photographer's eye. We have some inforMation about each house but would
appreciate any more information our readers could provide -- who built the house
(the contractor) and when is our main interest.
The red brick house above with turret was built by the Leckie family,' was lat er
owned by Dave Walker,-who ran a furniture.and undertaking business here. W. C.
King later owned the house and sold it to the present owner, Dr. Donald McRae of

It 'is my fond hope that our,
doctors will read this item I am
about to write. At the' Un. of
Georgia, research has indicated
that saturated fatty acid, which r
aises blood cholesterol is not even
present in meat fat. The primarty
fatty acid that is in meat fat
(caproic) actually lowers blood
cholesterol and blood pressure.
On top of this comes the
statement from Dr. Michael
DeBakey, the famous heart
transplant surgeon, that only
about 30% of heart patients have
any cholesterol abnormality. He
said that diet is not a specific
cause of heart disease st ating:
"We don't know the cause and
need to take a much saner
attitude toward diet in relation to
the disease, since it is obvious
that diet, as far as 65% or 70% of
the patients are concerned, has
not been related or associated
with the disease in our
experience." Then from
Raymond Reiser, Texas A & M
Un. that saturated fats do not, by
any criterion, elevate cholesterol
to high risk levels. if indeed they
raise it at all." Dr. Sherman of
the Meat Board thought it more
likely that we eat insufficient
crude fiber than that we eat too
much saturated fat. He said that
there is considerable evidence
that dietary fiber -- whole cereal'
grains, roughage of fruits,
vegetables -- lowers blood •
cholesterol:
