MRS. M. HAWKSHAW
The death Occurred December
30, in Geri.Care Nursing Home,
Harriston, of Mrs. Margaret
Hawkshaw, wife of the late
Arthur Hawkshaw, formerly of
Lucan, Ontario and Hussor, Alta.
and oldest daughter of the late
Philip and Matilda Ament of
Brussels. •
She is survived by three sisters;
Mrs.J.R.(Carye)Lynn, Windsor;
Mrs. Geo. (K.) Dawson, Wood-
stock; Mrs. Stan (Laura) Hobson,
Palmerston, and two brothers,
Scott of Trenton and P.1-1. (Mike)
Ament, Pinecrest, Kenora. Two
brothers, Bill and Earl prede-
ceased" her.
Mrs. Hawkshaw has been
hospitalized since July with a
broken hip, in Wingham and
Palmerston Hospitals. She had
just been transferred to Geri-
Care.
Funeral was held Thursday,
January 3 from M.L. Watts
Funeral Home, Rev. McCarroll.
officiating. Committal services
were at the Brussels Chapel. She
will be interned in Clandeboye
near Lucan in the spring.
Those attending from out of
town were Mrs. J.R. Lynn, her
son Jack and wife Winnie, Mrs.
Geo. Dawson, Mr. and Mrs. Stan
Hobson, with their daughter and
son-in-law Bert and Sharon
Johnson, Listowel, Mrs. Geo.
Galbraith, Wingham.
Pallbearers were: Herbert
Stretton, Bill King, Dick, Bill and
Fred Stephenson and David
Hastings.
PERCY DAWSON McLEAN •
Percy Dawson , McLean, a
former Belgrave resident, died at
Strathmere Lod, Strathroy, on
December 30 following a short
illness. He was 84,
Born in East .Wawanosh, he
attended school at S.S.No.8 and
until his retirement in 1967
farmed in the township.
In 1949 he was predeceased by
his wife, the former Ida Rintoul to
whom he was married in
February 16, 1916. He is survived
by a daughter, Donelda, Mrs.
Wm. Gordon of Strathroy,by two
sisters Lillian, Mrs. Robert
Brooks, Toronto and` Uldene,
Mrs. Wm. McKenzie of
Wingham and by 10
grandchildren and 8 great grand-
children. He was predeceased b3-7
a daughter, Corrine, Mrs. Wm.
Lediet, Wingham and by two
brothers, Dr. W.J.McLean, West
Lorne and F/L Chester McLean,
Wingham and by a sister, Miss
Annie McLean, Belgrave.
He was a member of Belgrave
Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services were held at
the Denning Funeral Home,
Strathroy, on January 1st with
interment following in Wingham
Cenetery Chapel. Burial will
follow in Brandon Cemetery,
Belgrave.

The death of Jack Alexander
Wilson of Brussels occurred in
Listowel Hospital on Thursday,
December 27th, 1973. He was in
his 84th year.

Born in Elma Township, he
received his early education
there, He was married to the
former Orma Ray Steiss at
Cranbrook in 1914. The couple
lived in Grey Township at Ethel,
where Mr. Wilson engaged in fox
farming, prior to their retirement
in Brussels, Hee, was a member of
Melville Presbyterian Church,
Brussels.
He is survived by his wife; one
daughter, Mrs. Earl (Myrtle)
Bowes of Ethel and one son,
Stanley, of Hamilton. Also
surviving are five grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by four
sisters, Mrs. George (Eliza)
Tenant of Hagersville; Mrs.
Norval (Nellie) Hall of Atwood;
Mrs. George (Annie) Ellacott of
Atwood; Mrs. Thomas (Myrtle) of
Brussels.
The funeral service was held at
the M. L. Watts Funeral Home,
Brussels, on Monday, December
31, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. C.A.
McCarroll of Melville Presbyter-
ian Church officiating. Burial took
place in Elma Centre Cemetery.
• Pallbearers were: Bruce and
Larry Wilson, Vern and Douglas
Guy, Torn Bowes and. Lennie
Miller.
Flowerbearers were: Jacquie
Guy arid Doris Miller.
JAMES LEWIS MANN
James Lewis Mann, 87 years,
of Bengough, Sask., passed away
on December 29. Predeceased by
his wife, Robena in 1970, he
leaves to mourn, three sons;
Allen and Alvin, both of
Bengough; George, Regina,
Sask.; two daughters; Mrs. Alex
(Jessie) Watson, Bengough; Mrs,
Everett (Verna) Harbottle, Reg-
ina; a brother, Alex, Simeoe,
Ontario; seven grandchildren,
one great-grandchild.
Funeral service was held .
Wednesday, January 2, at 3:30
p.m. from Bengough United
Church. Interment followed in
Greenacres Cemetery, Weyburn.
Arrangenients were in care of
Ferguson Funeral Home, Ben-
gough and. Weyburn.
Mr. Mann was a native of the'
Brussels area and homesteaded
in the west 60 years ago.
