elected Warden of Huron County
at the inaugural meeting of
County Council in Goderich
Tuesday afternoon. A Morris
Township farmer he succeeds
Roy Pattison, Reeve of East
Wawanosh.
The new Warden won over
three other candidates, Hugh
Flynn, Reeve , of Hullett
Township; Ed. Oddleifson, Reeve
of Bayfield and Charles Thomas,
Reeve of Grey Township.
In the first vote Reeve Elston
received 18 votes, Reeve Flynn 15
votes; Reeve Oddleifson 8 votes
and Reeve Charles Thomas, 11
votes.
Reeve Oddleifson was dropped

area as a p'ossi'ble temporary play
area or park until the Board may
wish to use the site for a new
school.
The Board agreed to accept Joe
Watters of Guelph as a candidate
for internship from January to
March. Mr. Watters would come
on a learning session. He would
work mostly with Joseph Tokar,
acting Superintendent of
Education. It was suggested he

released from custody Monday
after a bail hearing in provincial
court at Goderich.
Wayne Sidney Dewar, 17, and.
Wilmer Charles Marsales, 41,
both of no fixed address, are to
appear in court Thursday to set a
trial date.

they had been inveigled into
accepting a forged cheque.
Brussels merchants Were not the
only ones who Were victimized
with fraudulent cheques which
appeared to carry the signature of
local area men. Fortunately the
granddaughters and 7 grandsons.
