Another familiar business
name has disappeared from
Brussels Main Street.
The Leach Jewellery Store has
closed their doors after 30 years
in Brussels.
Mrs. Jean Leach has conducted
the business since the death of
her husband a number of years
ago but has been forced to give up
due to ill health. Her friends and
business acquaintances regret
that this has become necessary.
Imbued with the spirit of
Christmas the staff of the
Canadian Imperial Bank of

doughnuts, tarts and coffee to
their customers. Christmas
shoppers, in their last minutes of
shopping rush, no dotibt

snow, swooping down hill on
sleds and toboggans, wallowing
through the drifts, looking, like
snowmen themselves. With rosy
laughing faces they ignored the
chill winds,. Snowmobiles were
racketing everywhere. Hardy folk

barn burst, knocking over a heat
lamp which started a fire in some
straw.
Smoke coming from the barn
was noticed by Mr. Higgins'
father as he drove to his son's for
Christmas dinner. ,He sounded
