Dedicate new hymnals ...at Knox church

New HYMnals will be dedi-
cated at the regular service in
Knox Church on. November 18
at 1:30 p.m.
The Ladies' Aid are sponsor-
ing their Annual Bazaar on
Saturday in the Community Cen-
tre. There will be the usual
offering of home baking, candy,
sewing vegetables, Christmas
cards etc. and tea sill be served.
Hold shower
Neighbours, • relatives and
friends in the community presen-
ted Miss Brenda Smith with a
miscellaneous shower on Thurs-
day evening, November 8 in the
Community Centre. Games were
enjoyed and later an address was
read by Miss Bonnie Bremner
and the many beautiful anduseful
gifts were presented by several
girl friends of the bride-to-be.
Refreshments were served by
those in charge. Brenda's mar-
riage to Kenneth Lloyd 134,st took
place on Saturday evening,
Npvember 10.
WO are sorry to report that
Glenn Huether is a- patient in
Listowel Hospital following a
heart attack on Tuesday morning
November 6th. His many friends
hope for a speedy recovery.
Mrs. Roy Champion and Mrs.
Marion Akins of Moos ejaw visited
Mrs. Calvin Cameron.
Mrs. Russel Knight was hos-
tess for the November meeting
of the Women's Institute. Mem-
bers - answered the roll call by
naming a city or town in Scot-
land. Mrs. Gorden Engel re-
ported on the Tweedsmuir
History Workshop. The Tweeds-
muir committee will be selected
by the curator, Mrs. Engel.
Members will supply lunch for the
Tweedsmuir teas. Mrs. Wilfred
Strickler reported on the Area
convention held at Bingeman
Lodge, November 1st and 2nd.
Blues chasers were given by
Mrs. Ross Knight and Mrs. Rus-
sel Knight. Beautiful slides taken
in Scotland and England were
shown by Russel Knight. .Slides
of Brussels Centennial parade
taken by Alfred Knight were also
shown. Lunch was served by
Mrs. Perrie, Mrs. Fraser, Mrs.
Ross Knight and the hostess.
Mrs. Lylle Gordon enjoyed
a three week bus trip to Cali-
fornia and visited her sister

The Afternoon Unit met Tues-
day afternoon at the home of Mrs.
if. DeVries. There were 14
members and two visitors in
attendance. Thirty,-one visi-
tations were recorded. Mrs.
V. Hupfer was in charge of the
Devotion's.' Program, with "The
Bond of Peace" as the theme.
The Call to Worship was taken
from the book of Isaiah 2:4-5,
The hymn, "Land of our Birth"
was sung. Prayer was offered
by Mrs. Hupfer. The Scripture,
Ephesians 4:1-16, was read by
Mrs. R. Cousins, followed by a
Meditation on these verses. A
letter from Mrs. Wilhernina Gray
was read, *Mrs. Hupfer. Mrs.
Gray represented "Motherhood
of Canada" on Remembrance
Day in Ottawa. She herself had
lost two sons in the Second World
War.
Mrs. H. Steffler reported on
the Regional Rally in Fordwich
and other delegates also contri-
buted information.
A slate of 1974 officers was
presented by the Nominating
Committee. It was accepted
as read:- President, Mrs. H.
Steffler; 1st Vice President, Mrs.
W. Miller; Secretary, Mrs. V.
Hupfer; Assistant, Mrs. w,
Beacom; Treasurer, Miss M.
Skelton.
