OPP reports area accidents
Recent investigations carried
out by the O.P.P. of Wingham
Detachment include:
Four investigations under the
Liquor Control Act with four
persons charged.
Eleven charges laid under the
Highway Traffic Act with eight
warnings issued.
Thirty-four investigations
with three persons charged under
the Criminal code.
On Friday, May 25, Florence
M. Kennedy of wingham was
involved in a single car accident
in. Lower Wingha.m, TurnberrY
Township, in which a telephone
pole was struck, causing $750.
damages to the Kennedy vehicle.
There were no injuries.
On Saturday, May 26, Stewart
G. Hunter of wingham, was invol-
ved in a single car accident on
Marietta Street, east of County
Road #29, Howick Township,

striking a tree. There were
no injuries, and damages to the
vehicle were estimated at $800.
On Saturday, May 26, Marilyn
S. Williams of R.R.#2, Brussels,
was involved in a single car
accident in Morris Township,
when she hit a tree. There
were no injuries, and damages
to the vehicle were estimated at
$500.
Six investigations under the
Liquor Control Act with six per-
sons charged.
Seventeen charges laid under
the Highway Traffic Act with
eleven persons warned.
Thirty-three investigations
under the Criminal Code with
fifteen persons charged.
On May 30, Mabel M. Bauer
of Brussels, and Robert S. Mus-
grove of R.R. 2, wroxeter, were
involved in a collision on Highway
86, west of Molesworth. Injured
in the accident were Mrs. Bauer,
and three passengers in her
vehicle - Brenda Higgins, Mabel
Smith and Ella Graber, 'all of
Brussels. Damages were esti-
mated at $850. Charges are
pending.

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The June meeting of the
Bluevale Women's Institute will
be held Wednesday at the home
of Mrs. J. C. Johnston. The
roll call is a current health
event. Mrs. Harvey Timm and
Mrs. Wendal Stamper are in
charge of the meeting.Members
are asked to bring their tickets
for the draw to be made. A
representative from the Child-
ren's Aid Society will be
guest speaker.
BLUEVALE LOCALS
Anniversary services will be
held at the Bluevale Presbyterian
Church Sunday at 11 P.M. Rev.
McClure will be guest speaker.
Mr. and Mrs. John. D. Mann
of Clinton visted recently with
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mann.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. George Townsend on the
arrival of a baby boy in Sea-
forth Hospital, on Saturday,
June 2nd.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nichol-
son and Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Lobsinger of Kitchener visited
Bishop and family of Ethel on
Sunday, the occasion being
Kevin's birthday.
SURPRISE PARTY
A surprise party was held
Sunday evening for Mr. and Mrs.
Ross Gray to celebrate their 20th
wedding anniversary. Their
brothers, sisters and Mother and
families were present. They
were presented with a tea wagon
and Helen and Ross both thanked
them and the family served lunch
including a decorated cake.

On May 31, Velma J. Hays
of R.R. #1, Wroxeter, was in-jured when she struck a fence
on Huron Road 7, east of High-
way 4, Turnberry Twp. Damage
to her vehicle was estimated at
$300.
On June 2, Seth J. Rawn of
Gorrie, was involved in a single
car accident on Highway 4, north
of the CPR X-ing, Turnberry
Township. He was not injured,
and damages to his vehicle were
estimated at $200.
Joseph W. McInnis of
and David A. Neilson of Gorrie,
were involved in a collision on
Huron Road 28, south of High-
way 8'7. There were no injuries.
Damages were estimated at $300.
Charges are pending.
Marilyn Williams, 'age 19 of
Cornerbrook, Newfoundland and
Brett Holden, age 20 of R.R. 4,
Brussels, received leg injuries
when run over by a truck driven
by David E. Wilson of R.R. 3,
Brussels. Williams and Holden
had been sleeping in a barn
when Wilson backed his truck
into the barn. He did not see
them, and ran over them.

composed of masses of soft carti-
lage with only one developed bone
in his heel. It takes about
twenty years for his feet to fully

double that if it is to be used by

The Wingham and District
Cancer Campaign has come to
a successful- end for another
year.
The donation of $150.00 from
the student council of F. E. Madill
Secondary School was much
appreciated.
The canvass was conducted
in Wingham by the Business &
Professional Women assisted by
volunteers. In the rural areas
the ladies of the Women's In-
stitute took charge with volunteer
help including a number of men.
