The Belgrave Women's
Institute held a euchre and dance
on Friday, March 9. Music was
supplied by "The Blenders".
Prizes were given to - High
Lady - Mrs. Herson Irwin; Low
Lady - Elmer Bruce (playing as
a lady); frigh Man - Clarence
Roth; Low Man - Harold Vin-
cent. The lucky chair was won
by Mrs. Laura Johnston.
BELGRAVE II 4-H CLUB
The first meeting of the
Belgrave II 4-H Club was held
at the hOme of Mrs. Peter Chan-
dler.
Officers elected are -
President - Alice Beecroft; Vice
President - Helen Chandler;
Press Reporter - Jane Shiell;
Secretary - each in turn.
The second 4-H meeting of
Belgrave II was held at the
home of Mrs. Alex Robertson
with the attendance of six girls,
with one member absent. The
meeting was conducted by the
president, Alice Beecroft. .
A discussion was led by Mrs.
Peter Chandler in the knit sam-
ples brought to the meeting by
the girls. Mrs. Alex Robertson
discussed how to adjust the
pattern for knits and alternating
the bodice of the pattern. A dis
cussion was led by Mrs.Chand-
ler on altering the pattern for
pants.
Marilyn Robertson demon-
strated the cutting and marking
of a garment.

Camp o f Willowdale visited
on the week end with his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Van
Camp. With them were Mrs.
Van Camp's sisters, Miss Reta
Auge and Mrs. Marie Desmoker

The Belgrave A.C.w, met at
the home of Mrs. Cora McGill
with 12 members in attendance.
The opening prayers were read
by the president, Miss Mary
Isabel Nethery. The scripture
was read by Mrs. Jane Stokes.
Minutes were read by the secre-
tary, Mrs. Clare VanCamp and
the treasurer's report by Mrs.
Edna Nethery. Members agreed
to pay their share of the repairs
needed at the rectory at Blyth.

Mrs. Glenn Coultes was con-
venor of the program - Facing
the future on the farm takes
courage, knowledge and a strong
arm, she said.
Roll call was a new flower
or vegetable I would like to grow
this year. The guest speaker, Don
Pullen, Huron ag. rep., discussed
land use planning and gave an
illustrated picture of progress
and problems of erosion on the
lake front and in rural areas
where agriculture is carried out.
To preserve our woodlands and
forests, tile drainage is very es-
sential. Huron County has been
designated as a comprehensive
county for land planning with so
much of it good land that should
be preserved.
Mesic was supplied, by Mrs.
Murray Lougheed on piano and
son Scott on his banjo also vocal
by Scott and his banjo.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Stanley Cook, Mrs. Norman Coul-
tes and Mrs. Harold Procter.
AFTERNOON UNIT U.C.w.
Twelve members and two
visitors were in attendance at
the March meeting of the after-
noon unit of the U.c.W, Mrs.
Stanley Cook opened the meeting
with prayer and the hymn "Hap-
py is the Home when God is
there." A poem "Happy is He",
was read by Mrs. Cook followed
by a letter from Brazil thanking
Canadians for used Christmas
cards. These pictures are used
to prepare new cards which are
sold and proceeds used for church
construction, Old Christmas
cards can still be used and if
sent in small packages will avoid
custom duty.
Mrs. Cecil Coultes invited the

in her home. Mrs. Earl Ander-
son reported on Presbyterial held
in Seaforth. Mrs. Anderson read
scripture then the prayer "A

ducted a Bible Quiz,

with her aunt Mrs. Telford Cook
on Sunday,
Mr. Jack Allen and Mrs.
Thyra Townsend of Mimico cal-
led on Mr. and Mrs. James La-
mont on Sunday. They visited
with his sister Mrs. Albert Vin-
cent who is a patient in Clin-
ton Public Hospital.
Miss Johanna VanCamp re-
turned home on Saturday after
spending a week with her aunt
