Friday evening, Mayor Wigle being out
of town.
Two petitions for sewers were received
anC sent to the public works committee.
One of the sewers petitioned for is on Wolfe
street from Victoria street to Cambria
road, the other on Wilson street from
Britannia road to Thomas street. • a
Ed. Lynn was granted the use of the
room at the freight sheds at the harbor
on the same terms as last year, under the
supervision of the harbor committee.
The application of A. W. Lauder for ,
the renewal of his picture house license'.
was referred to the special committee.
A request from the baseball club fur a •
grant I f 575, for uniforms. etc., was re-'
!erred to the finance committee.
7 he finance committee reported - a
number of accounts and recommended
that the pubhr library board be paid the ,
sum of 5250 on the 1011) grant; that
Joseph Fisher he refunded 510 on his coal
oil pedlar's license: that the wages of the
public works employees be at the rate of '
2:x per hour for .steady employees and i
30c per hour .for spare man. and that
Geo. Beacom be paid at the rate of 60c
per hour for teaming. The committee I
.also reported the tale of the twenty do-
bentures issued for sewer construction.'
The debentures bear six per cent. in-)
terest, but were sold to yield the pure!
chasers sive and one-half per cent. 'the
total amount received was 111.32077. the
face value of the twenty debentures'
being 110,:•61.64. The purchasers were
twelve in number.
