week on behalf of the Gordon Steam
Pomp Co., of Hamilton, Ohio, endeavor-

It seems there is a difficulty in the way,

set up the clam that the inability of the

tact that the engine that works most

The Provincial Board of Health has
issued • bulletin on "The Flour Meth."
It pedes out that insects destructive to
grain sod flour have been introduced
into Canada in two ways. The imports
tion of grain from distant parts has
brought weeds •ud insects injurious to
gran, and returning empty bags, which
have carried dour to Europe and which
have been kept in storehouses and gran-
aries infested with insects, has intro-
duced insects destructive to fluor.
Up to the present tome Canada has
been fairly free from insect. preying on
grain and -flour, *at in order to keep that
position the utmost care should be taken
to prevent the prevalence of pests of this
kind. As much rigor should be exer-
cised in stamping 001 pest as stamping
out a dangerous contagious 41....e.
The dour moth, or Epieitia KuAr.i,lla,
has made its appearance in one of the
Ontario mills. At first • few were wen
dying about a steam pipe in the base-
ment of the mill, bet no attention was
as paid to them. Soon, however; they
