The service opened with the call to worship by April Mc- Burney followed by the proces- sional hymn "Can a Little Child Like Me". Alison Roberts read a responsive reading followed by Audrey Scott reading a prayer, All the members sang the Junior Auxiliary Hymn. Some of the Junior members recited the following six almes - Cathy Shie11, Promise Nancy Moore, Meribeth and Melanie Scott and Lori Cameron, members prayer - Kelly Lougheed and the motto by Johannah Van Camp. Sheila Anderson read the Bible reading, Psalm 146. The Candle-Light service proceeded with the candle-bearer April McBurney, standing holding a large white candle and reading a prayer. Ten members entered and lit their candles from the large one and took their places forming a semi-circle beside the light bearer and as each one took he ,r place,each one recited a prayer, thy wer e as follows: Bonnie Walker, Dianne Scott, Connie Mewes, Patsy Scott, Ruth Ann White, Betty Mewes, Karen Scott, Cathy Walker, Judy Carmichael and Lori Cameron. Nine graduates formed a. row in front of Rev. Keith Stokes and received their card of achieve- ment and Lisa Thompson presented them with a gift from the members and their leaders. The graduates are - April Mc- Burney, Dianne Scott, Patsy Scott, Karen Scott, Betty and Connie. Mewes, Bonnie Walker, Cathy Walker, and Ruth. Ann White: The service closed with "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", while the members formed two rows in the aisle of the church holding a lighted white candle with a green and yellow candle holder. Rev. Keith Stokes closed with a prayer. W.I. Notes Mrs. Leslie Bolt was the speaker when the Belgrave Wom- en's. Institute met for their World Affairs meeting in the Community Centre on October 17th. Her topic was "United Nations" and she demonstrated her points with the aid of posters. She concluded her talk with a poem "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing". The roll call "Name a member country of the United Nations", was well responded to by 21 members. There were seven visitors. The Coultes' sisters enter- tained with musical numbers with Mrs. George Johnston accom- panying on the piano. Mrs. Norman Coultes, Presi- dent, was appointed to attend the London Area Convention October 26 and 27 at the Banqueter,Lon- don. Members were reminded of a Short Course on the "Bedroom and Bath" to be held November 4th, in the Brussels Library. Miss Carole Bennett from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food will be In charge. Appreciation was extended to Mrs. Joseph Dunbar for the donation of a refrigerator to be Used in the Women's Institute Hall. SeVeral ladies offered to assist in sewing pyjamas for the Children's Aid Society. The flannelette has been supplied fur twelve pair of size 8 and a cutting bee will be planned. Mrs.Clarence Hanna and Mrs. Ivan Wightman will representthe Instibite at a meeting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Wing- hard to make plans tor the 1972 Christmas Bureau. Miss Gwen Scott of Barrie recently visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Campbell. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Albert. Vincent were Mrs. Katie Vincent of Grand Bend, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vincent, Lori, Michelle and Michael of Dashwopd, Donald Vincent and Miss Carol Webster. After dinner a surprise party was held in. Belgrave Community Centre where their family, rela- tives and neighbours gathered to play progressive euchre. Win- ners were High Lady -Mrs.Doug Mitchell of Burlington; High Man - Albert Cook, Belgrave; Low Lady - Mrs. Leroy Rintoul of Kettleby; Low Man - Keith Block, Belgrave and the prize for the most lone hands was won by Ross Taylor of Belgrave. Clifford Coulter asked Florence and Bill to come to the front and extended best wishes and congratulations and pre- sented them with a lamp from sixth-line neighbours and friends and Mrs. Bertha Cook presented Florence with a sterling silver pin and Bill cuff links from old sixth line neighbours retired to the village of Belgrave.
