sweep
program
East Wawanosh council met
the pelgrave Community
Centre on May 2nd with Reeve
Roy Pattison presiding and all
the members present.
In reply to a letter received
from the Maitland Conservation
Authorities the Council decided
to participate in the 1972' .SWeep"
Project, a student employment
program sponsored by the Pro-
vincial Government. The work
is above and beyond, normal pro-
grams and is to be related in
some manner to resource
management and conservation.
Motions adopted included:
- That the Council of the
Township of East Wawanosh en-
dorse the resolution from the
city of St. Thomas resolving that
the Ministry responsible for op-
eration of the Assessment Review
Courts. Regional Assessment0f-
floes and related functions be re-
quested to take appropriate action
to ensure the disposition of
appeals on or before the 30th day
of November in any,year and the
certification of the roll.
- That a grant of $10.00 be
given to the Huron County His-
torical Society.
- That the Road Accounts of
$5,478.56 and the General Ac-
counts of $1,529.69 as presented
be passed and paid.
13y-Laws 3,4,5 & 6, 1972,
being By-Laws amending the
Engineer's estimate to the actual
cost on the Voelmle, Sturdy,
Hunter and Schultz Municipal
Drainage Works were given first,
second and third readings and
finally passed. - Carried.
- That Council authorize the
Road Superintendent to prepare
a road criteria and call for
tenders on 9,000 yards of pit
run gravel for the re-building of
Concession 4 and .5 from No. 4
Highway, west for 2 1/2 miles.
- That the Council approve
the purchase of 2-way radio
equipment for the myth Fire
Department.
