Smiles . • • In the presence of the camp owner and two counselors, par- ents were signing the necessary documents to send their boy to camp for the first time. Watch- ing all this was the younger brother, who finally looked up with tears in his eyes and asked his father, ""Why are we selling Jimmy?" Short Shots (Continued from Page 1) when the drinkers have consumed their contents, they are scat- tered on streets, lawns, alleys, everywhere, with no regard for the hazard they create. The Post has been informed that a man, in the past three weeks, since the snow started to dis- appear, has collected 1,000 beer bottles, all within the village limits. He has been paid by another party who returns the bottles to the breweries. Pre- sumably a large percentage of these bottles were tossed out of cars. Not only are they an unsightly litter, but, when broken, cause damage both to vehicles and unwary persons. * * * * * Brussels, compared to many ether communities, has been very fortunate in not experiencing ex- tensive flood damage. There have been reports here of num- erous basements with water, furnaces have been cut off and continued pumping out has been required in some residences. What flood waters there Were here in the Maitland River were surprisingly quick to recede within the river's normal boun- daries. THE BRUSSELS POST, APRIL 26, 1972-9
