John G. Roberts, and accompanist Steve Sallows, Was shown by the capacity crowds which attended the two-hour con- certs presented in the East Waw- anosh Elementary School on the evenings of April 21 and April 22. Members of the choir are: First Tenor - George Johnston, Ross Anderson, Jake Muiluyk, Arnold Cook, Lorne Campbell. Second Tenor - Ross Higgins, Gordon McBurney, Fred Meier, Glenn Coultes, Bert Johnston, Keith. Weber, Don Procter. Bari- tone - George Michie, Ross Proc- ter, George Procter, JohnNixon, Bill Coultes, Alvin Higgins, Bill Lediet. Bass - Bob Taylor, Bob Grasby, Kenneth Wheeler, Jim Mair, Alex Robertson, Ross Smith, Harvey McDowell, Gilbert Beecroft, Harry 13rydges, Clif- ford Coultes, Jim Ba.kelaar. Supporting talent included a trio composed of Brenda Johns- ton, Nancy Anderson and Marj- orie Procter, which rendered four excellent numbers accom- panied by Mrs. George Johnston. Steve Sallows played two piano solos, Clifford Coultes enter- tained with humorous monologues and George Procer attired in his kilt costume, sang Scottish num- bers with Mrs. George Procter at the piano. A pleasing diversion was con- tributed when several of the choir members formed a harmonica- banjo band to entertain with old time tunes. Mrs. George Johns- ton assisted at the piano. Mrs. Roberts accompanied her hus- band as he sang "Sergeant Major" and "Blowing in the Wind". Saxophone renditions by Garnet Farrier of Whitechurch, with Mrs. Farrier piano accom- panist, were much enjoyed. isiews,of Belgrave Show appreciation of .choirs work QQTreapondant the offering. Kelly Lougheed cited the offertory prayer, The girls worked on stripe and badge work and a sing-song was led by Jeanette Johnston. Celebrate anniversary Mr. and ,Mrs. Stan Hopper of Morris Twp, marked their silver anniversary WednasdaY, April 19 at a family gathering at their home. A three-tiered anniver- sary cake adorned the table. Gifts were presented by the family and lunch was served. They have six children who were present for the occasion. Mrs. Jack (Marjorie) Van Niekerk of Bar- rie, Brian of Listowel, Wayne of Morris Twp., Ken, Gary and Debbie at home. They have one grandchild. On Saturday evening, a rec- eption and dance was held in Brussels Legion Hall attended by relatives, friends and neigh- bours of the bride and groom of 25 years ago. Hold Euchre The Belgrave Euchre was held in the community rooms with 11 tables in play. Prizes for the evening were won by: High lady, Mrs. Mark Armstrong; 1st Nov- elty, Mrs. Cora McGill; 2nd Novelty lady, Mrs. Ethel Wheeler; Low lady, Mrs. Gordon Higgins; High Man, Gene Porter; 1st Novelty Man, George Brewer; 2nd Novelty Man, Gerald Nichol- son; Low Man, Gordon Higgins. At the annual meeting it was voted to give 100,00 to the arena board and .$.50.00 to 019 Women's Institute., Mrs. Albert Vincent visited, with Mr. and Mrs. William Kelly of seaforth for a few days last week, also visited with Mrs. Dan Burns, Mrs. Norman Byer- mann and Mr. and. Mrs. Secord ,McBrien. Mr. and Mrs. John Galbraith of Toronto spent the weekend with Mr. and mrs. Lorne Camp- bell. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Ansley and family have moved to their former home near Thessalon. Terry Ansley is staying with Mr. and Mrs. Clare Van Camp until the summer holidays. Mr. Albert Vincent is visit- ing with friends and relatives at Zurich. lie is with Mr. and Mrs. George Bullock. William. Campbell of Harris- ton, Walter Scott a.ndRobertHib- berd visited R.B,P. #712 Grand Valley on Thursday when R.N. Sir Kt. Robert Beck of Stoney Creek addressed the meeting. We are pleased that John Rion was able to return to his home Wednesday after being hos- pitalized for five weeks in Vic- toria Hospital, London. • Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rinn and. Mrs. Keith Rock were recent visitors with Mrs. William Gordon of Kinloss. A bus load of 50 Institute members and friends motored to Listowel last Tuesday night and visited the Listowel florist. After a tour of the greenhouses a film was shown on the 1971 Rose Bowl Parade followed by demonstra- tions on slipping plants and arranging flowers. Jr auxiliary The Junior Auxiliary met in the Belgrave Orange Hall Sat- urday morning with Bonnie Walker leading in the games. President April McBurney led in the opening exercises and Sheila Anderson took charge of the Roll Call. Minutes were read by Connie Meurs. The treasur- er's report was given by Dianne Scott. Leader for games for the next meeting is Cindy Camp- bell, sing-song, Dianne Scott, Betty Meurs the worship and clean up girl is Cathy Walker. Laurie Stockhouse helped with the worship service.
