ANC CONVENE The A.W.C. of Trinity Church met at the home of Mrs. Cora McGill with seven in attendance. The president, Mrs. Robert. Procter was in charge of the meeting- Mrs. Clara Van Camp read the minutes and the treasurer's report was read by Miss Mary Isobel Nethery. The raffle was won by Mrs. Floyd Campbell. plans were made to attend the Service of Confirmation in St. Mark's Church, Auburn, on April 16. Lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Robert Higgins. MIDGETS WIN The Belgrave Midgets won the Tri County Midget Trophy by defeating Gorrie 2 to 1. He is at present staying with his sister, Mrs. John Anderson and calling on other relatives in the com- munity. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taulor of St. Ann's, Mr. and Mrs. Don Rae of Guelph, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Moran of Toronto spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. James Coultes. On 'Monday evening the four Coultes sisters, Janice, Joanne, Karen and Andrea were in. Kitchener to tape a program with "Big Al" which will be shown on Sunday,. April 16 on C.K.C.O., T.V. between 12 to 1 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. John Spivey, Brenda and Barbara of Ingersoll visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Procter and Miss. Margaret Curtis, this being the occasion of the twins ninth birth- day. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Coultes were week end visitors with Mrs. Russel Walker of Goderich and also visited with Russel in the Goderich Nursing Home. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Arm- strong of Thorndale spent the week end with Mrs. George Mar- tin. They also visited with his mother Mrs. Dave Armstrong in Wingham and District Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor, Stephen and Kevin, Belgrave, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Duskey of St. Agatha attended the 25th wed- ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Taylor of Sarnia. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Fin- negan, David and Jimmie of Dungannon visited on Sunday with his uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Chamneys. Mr. and Mrs. Elvey Rock, Joanne and Jeniffer of Monkton, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rock and Janette of Walton, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rinn attended the funeral service on Saturday of Miss Rebecca Hill of Huronview, Clinton, who was in her 96th year. The funeral took place from the J.W.Lockhart Funeral Home, Mitchell. John Rinn underwent an oper- ation last Thursday in Victoria Hospital, London. His many friends and neighbours wish him a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rinn visited with John on Friday in Victoria Hospital. On Sunday Mrs. Keith Rock and Janette, his father Hugh Rinn visited with him. Correspondent Mrs.1,4eWis Steneh9uSe The Easter Thankoffering Meeting of the W.M.S. was held last Wednesday afternoon in Knox Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Ron- ald Oke opened the meeting with an , Easter Poem and hymn "Christ the Lord is Risen To- Day" was sung. She welcomed visitors from Brussels and Hen- sall W.M.S. groups. Mrs. Alan McBurney led in prayer. Scripture was read by Mrs. Joseph Dunbar. Mrs. Walter Shortreed gave the meditation "Easter Is Eter- nal". Mrs. W. Kerr and Mrs. W. Edgar of Brussels favoured with a duet "The Place of Secret Prayer". Mrs. Oke introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. John Ostrom. She told interesting stories of things that had happened to her during her life as a minister's wife. She chose for her topic "The Last Wee k of Christ's Life". Mrs. Alan McBurney thanked the speaker and others who had taken part in the meeting. Mrs. William Dalrymple played two piano selections after which "Day of Resurrection" was sung. Mrs. Faber of Hensall, lit- erature secretary, had books with her for the ladies to look at. Mrs. Ronald Oke closed the meet- ing with prayer. Mark 25th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. William Elston were.honoured on three occasions prior to their 25th wedding anniversary on April 8. Thursday evening they were honoured by their family at a dinner at the Twin Gables Hotel. Saturday evening the 2nd. line of Morris euchre club held a sur- prise party at the Elston home. On Sunday they were guests of honour at a dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bowman. On each occasion they were pre- sented with gifts. EVENING UNIT MEETS The Evening Unit of the U.C. W. was held at the home of Mrs. Norman Cook with 17 present. Mrs. Jack Higgins opened the worship by reading a verse of scripture followed by singing hymn "Welcome Happy Morning" Scripture was read by Mrs.Ross Higgins. Mrs. Jack Higgins of- fered prayer followed by a read- ing entitled "Christ the Lord is Risen To-day" was sung and Mrs. Rose Higgins led in prayer. At the next meeting Mrs.Cliff Logan's group will be in charge of the program, Mrs. Ross An- derson's, the Worship and Mrs. William Coultes' the lunch. Offering was received and dedicated by Mrs. Harold Vin- cent. Mrs. Ross Anderson had charge of the program. Mrs. Cliff Branton and Mrs. Laura Johnston gave a reading, "Neigh- bourhood". Mrs. Anderson gave a talk on Africa and Mrs. Jack Taylor read a story "What Easter Means to Me". Lunch was served by Mrs. Cliff Logan's group. JUNIOR AUXILIARY ELECTS The first meeting of the Bel- grave Junior Auxiliary was held at the Orange Hall on Saturday morning. The vice president April Mc- Burney lead in opening exercises. , Patty Scott took charge of the roll call. Minutes were read by Laurie Stack house. The treas- urer's report was given by Betty Meurs. The girls welcomed four new members, Sheila Anderson, Kelly Lougheed, Lisa Thompson and Judy Carmichael. The leader of games for next meeting is Ruth Ann White, leader for sing-song, Betty Meurs, leader for worship service - Patsy Scott and the clean-up-girl- Bonnie Walker. COZY DOZERS The "Cozy Dozers" met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Peter Chandler who discussed and demonstrated bias binding and trimming sleepwear. Mrs. Alex Robertson discus- sed and demonstrated corded pip- ing and monogram. GIRLS PLAY HOCKEY Approximately 15 area girls between the ages of 9 to 12 have formed a girls hockey team under the leadership of Gordon Pen- gelby and William Coultes. Al- though they have only had a few practices they have played three games with the Belgrave Tykes. Each time they have been on the loosing side, but hope to do better next year. The curlers playk:', in the Sluevale Hall last Wednesday evening with 26 tables in play. Winners were; High Lady - Mrs. Jack Shiells, Low - Mrs. Carl Johnston; High Man - Eldred Nichol, Low - Joe Hunking; Lucky cup - Mac Eadie. A reception and dance was held in the Women's Institute Hall on Saturday evening in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Don Rae (nee Audrey Coultes).Music was supplied by the "Alley Cats". After lunch was served Audrey and Don were asked to come to the platform when George Johnston read an address and George Mechie presented them with a gift of money.
