Twenty- three members and four visit- ors answered the Roll Call by reciting an Easter verse. Mrs. Ross. Anderson of Bel- grave was the speaker, using as her topic "What Does Easter Mean In Your Home". She urged the ladies to regard the rel- ,igious significance of Easter as being of the utmost importance and, not to let the Bunny become too important but rather, to keep it as a legend. A quartette, composed of Mrs. Stan Hopper, Mrs. George Proc- ter, Mrs. Glenn Coultes and Mrs. Wm. Coultes, rendered two vocal numbers. Mrs. Leslie Bolt gave read- ings "Easter Sunday" and "His- tory Repeats". Mrs. Stewart Procter, convener of the meet- ing, thanked those who took part. Business was conducted by the President, Mrs. Norman Coultes. Minutes were read by Secretary- Treasurer Mrs. Stan Hopper, who also gave the financial statement. The annual meeting of the Branch will be held April 11th and all conveners of Standing Commit- tees were asked to submit their reports. Members were remin- ded of the tour of the Listowel florists on April 18th when a bus will be hired for transport- ation. It was agreed that a window be installed on the north wall of the new kitchen being built, in the W.I. Hall. A furnace is also being installed. The mem- bers decided to have a canvass of the community for funds to assist in financing this project the Institute has undertaken and it is in progress this week. Lunch was served by Mrs. Robert Purdon, Mrs. Norman Coultes and Mrs. Robert Hig- gins. EUCHRE PARTY Eight tables of euchre played in the Community rooms Wednes- day evening when winners were: High Lady, Mrs. George Walker; Man, Harold Procter; Low Lady, Mrs. Jesse wheeler; Man, Mark Armstrong; Novelty Lady, Mrs. Jack Anderson; Man, Arron W ieben. BELGRAVE #1 4-H Belgrave #1 Lounge Lovers met March 2'7 in the Belgrave Arena. Six members were pres- ent. Brenda Nethery read the minutes. The next meeting is April 10. The Achievement Day exhibit will be "Trims and Fin- ishes". Mrs. Clarence Yuill talked on Bias Binding and dem- onstrated. Mrs. Clark Johnston demonstrated Corded Piping en- closed in a seam. Members made a sample for their booklets. UCW the service with, hymn "When. I Survey the Wondrous Crossio. Mrs. Jack Higgins introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. James Ward of Wingham. The theme of her message was "Because I Live You. Shall Live Also". Mrs. Ken- neth Wheeler thanked Mrs. Ward. CANDIDATES RECEIVE DEGREE Quite a number from this Area attended a meeting of Wood- ham R.B.P. 904, on Good Friday when the Red Cross degree was conferred on four candidates. Visitors were from Sarnia, St. Thomas, London, Windsor, Bay-, field, Clinton, Blyth, Brigden, Wingham, Fordwich and Bel- grave. A team from Sarnia under the leadership of M. W. Sir Kt. John Morrison, P.G.M. of Ontario West conferred the degree. Good Friday visitors with Mrs. Joseph Dunbar were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dunbar of Stratford. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Dunbar, Karen and Donald. and Mrs. Mar- 'shall Stonehouse, were Sunday visitors with Mrs. Joseph Dunbar. Karen remained for a few holidays. Roy Noble of Wingham, Harold Webster of Auburn, Lloyd Herin of Exeter, Robert Hibberd and Walter Scott, attended an Orange Rally in Thamesford on Satur- day. Four candidates were init- iated by a degree team from South Sinicoe County. The meeting was followed by a supper and pro- gramme. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hib- berd visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Warren Zurbrigg of RR #2, Clifford. Mr.. and Mrs. Robert Cook, Katherine and Jennifer of Clinton, Miss Etta Sturdy of Wingham and Mrs. Telford Cook spent Easter Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Cook spent Easter weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Marshall and family of London. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Scott, Brian and David of Barrie spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scott. Mr. and Mrs. William Shackleton of Burlington and Mr. W. F. Shackleton of Caledon, recentlf visited with Mr. and Mts. Walter Scott and Mrs. Eliz- abeth Shackleton. Mr. and Mrs. James Jacklin- and boys of Rosseau spent the Easter holiday with Mr. add Mrs. James Leishman. Mr. and Mrs. Gibson Arm- strong and David of London vis- ited on Saturday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Herson Irwin and also visited with his mother, Mrs. Dave Armstrong who is a patient in Wingham and District Hospital. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Glover of Mississauga were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Herson Irwin. We are sorry to hear that Miss June Leishman is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London. "The Day of Resurrection" was sung. Cor- respondence included an invita- tion from Blyth U.C.W. to attend an Easter Thankoffering on April 9th when Mrs. Stewart Toll of London will show pictures of Africa and from the supply sec- retary telling of an allocation of articles for the Angola mis- sion. The supply committee will look after purchasing and mailing these articles. It was arranged to send money for blankets since the group no longer is sending bales of used clothing. A quar- tette consisting of Mrs. William Coultes ' Mrs. Glenn Coultes, Mrs. Stan Hopper and Mrs. Geo. Procter sang two numbers.
