The Brussels Post, 1972-03-29, Page 10News of Huronview The Old Tyme Club of Clinton and their musicians, Mrs. Ross 13roadfoot, Kippen; Frank Forest, Hensall and caller, Gordon Papple, Saforth, visited Huronview on Friday evening for an hour of dancing. The club members along with the evening volunteers, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Howard, W111a Taylor and several residents 4, took part in some of the round, wheelchair and square dances. Monday, March 19, was once again the day for the Old Tyme Music session, with the entertainment being provided this week by Norman. Speir and two guests, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Finlay. , The first two gentlemen played violins while Mrs. Finlay accompanied them on the piano. The residents in attendance had, as usual, a very enjoyable afternoon of their favourite old time songs. A special and unique event on the program, was the step dancing, done very capably by Miss Bonnie Storey. Her talents were appreciated by everyone in attendance. A group of six Talunteers from. Goderich were on hand to render their services with the program. We thank them very much for their time and effort. Plans were made at the Monday afternoon meeting of the Huronview Women's Auxiliary for the spring tea which is to be held in the auditorium on Wednesday, May 3. The Woodham & Kirkton Men's Club were in charge of the Thursday Family Night program. President Glen Copeland introduced the numbers which included dances by Janice Burgin and Susan Spence; the Morrison sisters, Lorrie, Lynda, Lisa; Instrumentals by Bob Robinson, Burns Blacker, Ellen Eveleigh, Lawrence Rodd, Laurel Ratcliffe; vocals by the Copeland sisters; Philip Backler and a lively sing-a-long led by Mrs . Spence and Robert Rundle. Olitario for a three day Conference. Huron County was re- presented by: Keith Williamson, Walton; Jim. Nixon, Seaforth; Gerald Baan, Walton; aaX:Y Gordon, SeafOrth; Marie McClure, Winthrop; Linda Anderson, Londesboro; John Fielder,Goderich; Marg Postma, Hensall; Lois Jones, Hensall. During the Conference the delegates were involved in taking an in-depth look at the con- cerns of young people in rural Ontario today. The delegates were divided into groups accord- ing to the area of their primary concern and, interest. Each delegate was actively. involved in sharing his thoughts with several other delegates and together each group developed ideas and re- commendations which can help to overcome the existing problems they identified.
