Thursday and later In the day
polished off a highly rated St.
Paula team by a 7 - 4 score. Then
in the final game Brussels proved
the experts wrong as they
swamped the Pt.Edwarci C lnia 7 -Q.
Other teams entered in the
tournament were Milverton,
Palmerston, Atwood and Mt.
Forest with, the tyke team from
Wingham taking the Consolation
trophy.
Between the two games on
Thursday and the Championship
final onSunday, the Brussels boys
kept in shape by playing in another
tournament in Blyth on Saturday.
In their first game in Blyth,
Brussels outscored Blyth by a
6-1 score and earned the right
to meet Lucknow in the second
game and this time shutout their
opponents 6-0; Later in the
afternoon Brussels met Wingham
in the Championship semi-final
and emerged with a 6-2 victory.
With this victory Brussels enters
the Championship final against
Milverton. Other teams in the
Blyth tournament were Clinton,
Bayfield, Seaforth, Goderich
and Belgrave.
TYKES TO PLAY
PARENTS
As a windup to the season's
activities, the Brussels Tykes
have challenged their parents
to an exhibition game. The
game will take place on Satur-
day evening at 7:00 p.m. and
should provide some unusual en-

from the Monkton Figure Skat-

FIGURE SKATING TESTS
The Listowel Figure Skating
Club was host for the Canadian
Figure Skating tests held at the
arena for skaters who are under
the instruction of Mrs. Faye
MacDonald.
Skaters trying tests were
from Monkton, Listowel and
Brussels.

The Brussels Novice Team
evened their best-of-three Zone
2 semi-final playoffs at 1 game
each as they edged Milverton by
a 5-4 score after ten minutes of
overtime play. Brussels lead
after the first period on an un-
assisted goal by Doug Cousins,
but Milverton took control in the
second period and popped in three
goals to lead 3-1 after two.Brus-
sels came out fast in the third and
scored three goals after only -7
Minutes but with less than thre
minutes to go Milverton tied the
score and forced the ganie into
overtime. With only 1 minute
and five second played in the
overtime, Doug Cousins scored
an unassisted gbal to provide the
victory for Brussels. The third
game in this series will be played
on Thursday evening at 8;00 in
the Brussels arena. The winner
of this series will play Lucknow
for the Zone 2 Novice champion-
ship.
