Bridal Shower
Miss Mary Bewley was guest
of honor at a miscellaneous
shower on Saturday evening in
the basement of Walton Church,
which was prettily decorated with
flowers and pink and white
streamers and bells.
. Miss Carol Wilbee opened the
program with Gail Traviss sing-
ing one of her pleasing solos, cc-
coMpanted by her mother at the
piano. Carol Wilbee conducted
two contests, A most interesting
skit was given with Mrs. B.
Mitchell as the Dr. and Carol
Wilbee as the nurse. The bride--
to-be -of this month, her mother,
Mrs. Walter I3ewley, the groom's
mother, Mrs. Carman Baker of
Atwood and the grandmothers,
Mrs. Jack Yuill of Brussels and
Mrs. Gertie Bewley of Clinton
were called forward and took
their placeS in the Special chairs
at the front, Miss- Carol Short-
reed read the address of Best
Wishes and gifts were presented
to Mary by her girl friends. Mary
thanked' all in her usual happy
manner for the lovely gifts. The
ladies of the Walton Unit served,
a delicious lunch, and the even-
ing was mutt' enjoyed by all pre-
sent.

Mrs. Evans was hostess for the
September meeting of the Ladies'
Aid on Tuesday afternoon and
was the convenor, opening the
meeting with a poem followed by
a hymn and the meditation. Sec-
retary, treasurer and Sunshine
reports were given followed by
a hymn, Devotions, Mrs. Mathe-
son and Miss Moses.
The roll call was responded to
by short poems and readings. Mrs.
Steiss read current events cover-
ing a short blOgraphy of Rev. Dr.
Murdo Nicolson, the new Moder-
ator of the 97th Genetral As.•
semiy of the Presbyterian Church
in Canada. The business part of
the meeting followed, the offering
Was received and the meeting
closed with the Miapah Bene-
diction.
During the social hour Mrs.
Turvey gave a reading and a Sing
Time was enjoyed with Mrs.
Evans at the piano, Mrs; Steiss
conducted a humorous contest and
lunch was served by the social
committee.

Authority. He showed an inter-
esting film entitled "Conser-
vation and the- balance of Nature."
Brian Robinson, a nephew, ran
the propjector. A question and
answer period was conducted by
Mr. Robinson and much valuable
information was received on pol-
lution and conservation, and pam-
phlets could be gotten by those
present. Mr. Robinson was thank-
ed and presented w ith a gift.
