W. M. S. MEETING.
(eontiued front page one)
three years ago. There was a time
of "Waiting on the Lord in
Prayer?' before the decision to
rebuild was taken. The problems
were many and severe such as the
dispersal of a congregation with
far-back traditions; the depth of
air pollution in the area; the
teen-age. youth and young
ren living in the homes in the
area ..under conditions most un-
desirable, Children with no back•
ground Of • Christian living •or be
lief. Miss Stuart told of her Sun-
day School class- now up to forty-
five members, where some twenty
years ago, there had been an en-
rollment of 800 children in the
church school. The speaker men-
tioned two concerns she. had for
the Church. First, respectability
demanded by church members.
Could it be that God's new thing
for us is willingness to change.
Second, the lack of to-morrows
congregation in the church. Jesus
had ar way of breaking down bar-
riers between those within and
those without..
For a discussion period., groups
of seven- • were formed, with a
.leader for each group. A duet,
Back Of 'the Clouds, rendered by
Mrs. Lulu Kerr and Mrs. Winifred
Edgar, • was very much enjoyed.
Mrs. Betty Feagau expressPd
•deep appreciation W all who had
assisted at. the Biennial Conference
held in Wingham. Synodical re—
ports were submitted by Mrs. Ira
Dickie, Mrs. Robt. Armstrong,
Mrs: Johnston Conn, Mrs.. F.
Maulden and Mrs, Clarke Mathe-
son. The 'In Memoriam" was pre-
sented by Mrs. Ed Beard, Wing.
haM, Mrs. Ken MacDonald, Tees-
water, led in the Offering Prayer.
The closing prayer for the after-
noon session was led by Mrs. Glen.
Haldenby. Dinner was served
in the church school room by the
Brussels group.
The Evening Session' com-
menced at 7 p.m. The Theme "A
Jesus Walked This Lonesome
Valley and We Are Climbing
Valley and We ar Climbing
Jacob's Ladder", were sung with
guitar accompanied by .Joan
uid ;Julie Valiance, These
were much. p,ppreciated. Devo,ious
were coecNeted. by MOleSWOrtIA

er read the Scripture from St.
Johb, chapter 1, verses 40-51.
Mrs. John Brush gave the lied.
tati011. "Ye shall be 'Witnesses."
No one liNree for himself, EVer.Y•
thing we do has an influence for
good or bad. The Christian must
watch himself for he is being
watched. The dqvptio:10.1 prayer
was led by Mrs. W. Beirns. Mrs
rlerald Gibson welcomed all
members to the Evening Session.
A. brief but very enthusiastic re-
port of the Regional Conference
was submitted, by Mrs. Robt. Mc-
Allister, 'Dungannon. The roll call
was taken by Mrs. W.. D. Camp-
bell. Mrs. J. W. English introduc-
ed the speaker, Miss C. Stuart, to,
the evening session. Miss Stuart
spoke on the theme "Ye shall be
Witnesses"". She stressed the ur.
gency of becoming involved
where we are; making our own
Christian witness in the spirit or
lovec serving with patience and
understanding. The offering was
received, and Mrs., R. McAllister
led in the dedication prayer, Mrs.
:fan Brush, Gorrie, expressed
apprebiation to all who had con-
tributed to the meeting. An inv-
Ration from Bluevale group for
the 1972 May meeting was accept.
ed with appreciation. The Presi•
dent, Mrs. Mundell. brought a
