World Day of Prayer Serylice
The Annual World Day of
Prayer service was held in Knox.
Presbyterian Church with the
ladies from Moncrieff in attend-
allee. A brief regular monthly
Meeting of the Aftertmon ,Group
preceded the. prayer service. The
president, Mrs. Wilfred Strickler,
Opened the Meeting and Mrs.
Stanley Fischer read the minutes
and ealled the roll. It was answer-
ea by nine Meitibers givinga
verse on "prayer", 'Mrs. Mare.
Neitch was first leader for the
Day of Prayer service. Other
leaders and readers Were Mrs.
Mac Engel, Mrs. Ly110 Gordon,
Mrs. Calvin Catneren and Mr's.
John A. Perrie from Oranbrook
and Mrs. .Tack Cox and Mrs. Lytle
Pettapiece of Moncrieff United
Church. A duet "Did yon think to
Pray?"' was sung with Mrs. Cyril
Prescott and Mrs. Douglas Evans
With accompanist Mrs. Stewart
Steiss, A paper on "Prayer" pre-
pared by. Miss Alice J. Forrest
was read by Mrs. Earl Dunn. The
offering was received by Mrs,
Jack Knight and Mrs, Gordon
Engel. of the Evening Group.. The
dedicatory prayer, was" given by
Mrs, John A. Perrie. Appreeiation
to all who participated in the ser-
vice was extended by-Mrs, Wilfred
Strickler and she invited all to
the basement for a social halt
hour. Lunch was served under the
eonvenerahip of Mrs, Earl Dunn,

The 4aren Meeting of the W, I.
was held at the home of. Mra.
Gordon Engel with ab attendance

visitors.' The roll call was "My

articles. There wore eight =with-
ers present and the Melaillop Unit
were guests when we had a Bake
Sale and orders are being taken
for eards etc. The minutes of the
last meeting were read by the
Secretary, Mrs. 'Frits conducted
musical contest.. Grace was
sung and lunch served by Mrs,
Harold Bolger, Mrs. Jim Me,
Donald, the hostess and other
members assistin.g..

The Walton TIT }mitten-taking.
club "Separates for Summer"
held their first meeting at the
home of Mrs. Harold 'McCallum
on February 18 at 8 p.m. with 11
girls present. The meeting opened
with the 4-14 pledge, The officers
were elected as follows: •
