Cunningham and Bert Godden, -1 -01 Jim thanked everydne on behalf of his wife and family after which. a. delicious lunch was enjoyed.by Huron Women Teachers' Meeting Held In Brussels The annual . fall meeting of the 'Huron Women Teachers' Federation was held in Brussels Presbyterian. Church. on Tuesday, October .27th at .6:15 p.m. A delicious dinner was served by the Young Women's Guild of the church. Mrs. 'Evelyn Merrill, President of the Association welcomed every- one. and introduced ,the guests at the head table. . . A highlight of the evening was the induction service for new graduates • who• have eottlinenced teaching in Hilton County. Rev. 0, A. McCarroll brought greStings froth the • Presbyterian Church. Mr. Jim Coulter, Superintendent • of. Area Supervisors' spoke briefly. Musical numbers were presented by Mr. Ken Scott,- Miss Julie 7allance and MiSs Joan Elliott These were much enjoyed by everyone. The guest speaker, MiSs lliz- abeth Hodgins, Executive Assist. ant of F.W,T.A.Q. gave.. a very informative' address. A brief business period follow ed hefore the meeting adjourned. CURLING NOTES The Brussels Curling Club held is annual card party in the curling room on Monday evening, Novem- ber 2nd. Melville Ladies' Aid The regular meeting of the Ladies ,Aid of Melville Church was held on Monday aftereoon at the home of Mrs. W. W. Smith with an attendance of 22. Roll Call was answered by a. verse on Remembrance Day Sepretary and Treasurer's re. ports were read. Scripture Read- ing was taken by Mrs. Wes Kerr and Prayer by Mrs. Allen Smith. Tt was decided to let the Guild look after the Lions Supper from now on. New Officers were elect- ed for .next ,year. Sometime aoout roux a.m. the fire hall wae broken into and the fire tuck taken, A fire alarm was turned in end when firemen ar- rived at the hall they found the truck gone. It was located behind ii farmer's barn a. mile .or so out of Brussels. It was fortunate the alarm was a false one. Perhaps the culprits realized the hazard involved in their act and turned the alarm in to alert the firemen to the tact the truck was gone. Two hydrants . had been opened and water pressure_ was danger- ously low. Someone set fire to the Brussels . sign at the south en- trance to the village. It is too bad. the guilty party can't be made to pay for the destruction of this expensive sign. „. . An old vacant. house. in Grey Township was burnt. The O.P.P. are investigating these incidents. Dr. Robert Cunning- ham united in marriage, Isobel, youngest daughter of Mr. and. Mrs. Melville Dennis of R.R. 2. Wroxeter, and Kevin Raven, only son of Mrs. Helen leaven of Coventry, England and the late Mr, Raven. The .bride, who was given in marriage' by her father, ;vore street length dress of white wool, with tiny pill box hat of match- ing fabric and carried a sheaf' of gold .and bronze mums Miss Margaret Sherlock of Vancouver, and formerly of Streetsville eras bridesmaid, She wore a street length dress of walnut brown wool and co rrie(I. baby mums in autumn colours. The groom was attended by Mr. Clem Hopson of Vancouver.
