Hallowe'en Pranksters
Were Active Again. •
The usual ghosts, vbiiiis and
witches were abroad on IIallewe'-
en 107-0 with their trick or treet,
irisits and getting their "goodies".
We doubt that they found any
glass or nails in their. treats, as
was the cane its smite Biases. The
people of this eorrimunity, thank , , _„
God, are not that kirid of persons,
Ppariketets too; were on -the
peieWl With. :4)40 exceedingly
dangerous pranks that could have
cost the loSs of property and even
lives, but, perhaps beeanee of the
rainy night, - there Were not us
many ,such incidents as has Softie•
times been the case.
Obstructions were twice re-
moved from the bridge, Others
had been put' across streets.
Sometime aoout roux a.m. the
fire hall wae broken into and the
fire tuck taken, A fire alarm was
turned in end when firemen ar-
rived at the hall they found the
truck gone. It was located behind
ii farmer's barn a. mile .or so out
of Brussels. It was fortunate the
alarm was a false one. Perhaps
the culprits realized the hazard
involved in their act and turned
the alarm in to alert the firemen
to the tact the truck was gone.
Two hydrants . had been opened
and water pressure_ was danger-
ously low. Someone set fire to the
Brussels . sign at the south en-
trance to the village. It is too bad.
the guilty party can't be made to
pay for the destruction of this
expensive sign. „. .
An old vacant. house. in Grey
Township was burnt.
The O.P.P. are investigating
these incidents.
