The late L. E. Cardiff was the Progressive Conservative MP
Huron County for 25 years. He was a constant supporter of
former prime mtinister John Diefenbaker and was chief govern-
ment whip in 1957 and 1958. He was also parliamentary secre-
tary to D. S. Harkness, minister of agriculture, in 1959 and 1960.
Mr. Diefenbaker expressed regret that he was unable to attend
the funeral.
