would start to exercise sonic care
about. their Own safety.
Another boating season is ander
way and pleasure craft of assort-
ed types and sizes are being
launched across the vacation areas
of Ontario, ir..:ere are some vital
questions for every boat owner:
to ask himself:
(1) Is my boat in a seaworthy
condition?
If you are not absolutely
stire, check the hurl titer-
onghly or have a compet-
ent marine man do i. I for
you. Any defects should be
repaired before launching.
(2) Have I the required safety
equipment on board my
boat.
The average small pleasure
boat is required to carry an
approved life jacket for
each passenger on board,
two paddles or two oars
and oarlock,s, and a haling
bucket or bilge pinup. In
addition, it is advisable to
carry a fire exinguisher vn
any gasoline powered craft,
and a suitable anchor with
adequate line, Be, sure all
equipment is in good, vs-
able condition.
(3) Is my motor in servicable
condition?
