took away the clerkship from
Lelia Procter and she llaa more

clog catcuer all pooled together.
She c::oulcin't qualify. To do so she
had to climb a hydro pole, put On
a cross arm, hut the most im-
portan.t she had to swear alleg-
iance to the Liberal party. The
electors have been wrong as far
back as I can mind. In 1911 the
farmers waited on Sir Wilfred
Laurier for help. He framed the
Reciprocity bill. They kicked him
out, William Hearst premier cif
Ontario gave the women the vote.
The first election he was beat,
Wesley Rowell, Liberal leader in
Ontario was a strong temperance
advocate. lie says put me in and
111 put Ontario bone dry. The
churches held prayer meetings
all over. 121sey prayed for him but
they didn't vote for him. Not one
Tory. Their politics were Strong-
er than their religion. Rowell
never got a Tory vote and he lost
every grit who had common
sense, Winston Churchill won the
World War but he lost the first
election after.. Ma:Kenzie King
was beaten. Diefennaaer was
beaten. Black Bill Henderson, one
of the smartest men Morris ever
producea lost his deposit. What
about Gordon McGavin? lie
should have been elected.
So in conclusion, 1 will be in
Bluevale and I hope the Reeve
and Council raise their own sal.
ary to $5000 each. The clerk's
double this, I hope everyone who
didn't vote for Stratton and El-
liott get the seven year itch and
diaper rash. Merry Christmas and
a happy New Year to you all,
even Kreuter and Campbell,
