GEORGE LESLIE THUELL
George Leslie Thuell, myth, who
was a former Brussels resident, 1-
died in Scott Memorial Hopital,
Seaforth, on Sunday, in his.
74th year,
He was the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs, Win, Tliuell, He is sur-
vived by four brothers, Roy, Jos-
eph and Fred, Brussels; William,
'Blyth; four sisters, Mrs. Tames
(Annie) Marshall, Shelburne;
Mrs. Norman (Edna) Speir, Van-
couver,: 13,0.; Mrs. Rowland
(Ella) Sharpe, Sarnia; Mrs. Mel-
ville (Margaret) Johnston, Tor-
onto,
The funeral, from the D. A.
Bane funeral heme Wednesday,
was conducted by the Rev. F. G,
Braby of St. John's Anglican
Church, at 2):Q0 p.m.
Burial was in Brussels ceme-
tery,

SPIN AROUND
THE TRACK
One of the busiest weeks of the
season took place this last weeke
Labour Day found the crew at
Nilestown track in the afternoon.
After a spin out in the first heat
Jack picked up a second in the
semi and a third in the feature.
;journeying across to Delpware
on Friday night Jack didn't finish
ing up three second place finish-
es for a good evening's racing.
Travelling back to Deleware
on Fri lee nigth Jack didn't finish
the first, race but after start-
ing at the rear of the semi came
through to pick up the checkered
flag and then a sixth spot in, the
feature.
Saturday night round the crew
at Flamboro Speedway but it
proved to be one of those un-
eventful evenings of racing. The
First heat found Jack in a spin
out and in the semi he came back
to pick up fourth spot The feat-
ure was coming along flue when
going into a corner a brake line
broke and Jack tangled with
another car before getting as far
a s the fence, but received no
serious damage. After the races
in Flamboro Saturday night the
local crew travelled down to San-
dusky, Ohio, for races Sunday
afternoon Tack had the fastest
Canadian time trial and started
the... features race in teventy-
fourth spot. He worked his way
up to fourth place, wnen he en-
countered more of those plaguing
difficulties. However if racing
goes well this Saturday night,
they intend to return to Sandusky
agelin this Sunday for their year-
end race. The best of luck Jack
in the big race.

Wingham In Series
One Of the best of the season's
ball games played on the Brussels
diamond was when Brussels Ban-
tams eliminated Wingham by a
score of 6-3..
The boys were right up on the
bit. The infielders were real
sharp and drew enthusiastic
,applause from the spectators.
The outfield players were no
slouches either,
Their next opponents will be
Rostock. Watch for the date of
the game and' be • there to give
this team your support.
Ladies Series Tied 2 - 2

series with Brnseele.• here defeat-
ing the 1041 team to give them
twos garnets apiece.
Brussels started with a game
lead but it was not their night.
Errors were costly with even the.
veteran players being caught by
thems Perhaps. the car crash
which 'claimed the life of the
husband of •one of the players and
sent her and her children. to hos-
pital when they were on their
way to the game, upset her team-
mates. Come on girls, let us see

CLAIM'S MAN'S LIFE
Ernest Lynn Morrison, 28, of
R.1t, 5, 'Wing-ham, died shortly
after admittance to Wingham
and District Hospital Thursday
night, He received fatal injuries
in a twescar head-on crash on the,
fifth line. .er Morris Township
miles west of Brussels.

Machan, 24, daughter of Mrs.
Meehan of Brussels and the late
Lawrence. -1Viachan, and their
two • children, Stephen 3, and. ••
Sandra 2, and Joyce Taylor 12,
were hoilPitalized with injuries
but have now 'been. released.
Elmer Pletch, 41. of RR 6,
Brussels, driver of the second
ear involved in the fatal crash,
escaped injury,
The accident occurred while
the Morrisons were on their way
to Brussels" to a ball game in
which Mrs. Morrison was a memb-•
er of the Brussels Ladies team.
Mr. Morrison is also survived
by his .parents, Mr, and Mrs.
Chester Morrison: of Guelph,
and two sisters, Miss Joyce of.
Kitchener and 'Mrs. Ken (Nate)
M'nc.Konzie,
The funeral service was held
train. r ho -R. A. Currie and Son.
funeral home, Winghatn, on Mon-
day at 2 p.M. Burial was in Wing-
ham cemetery.
Melville Ladies' Aid
The first meeting of the
Ladies' Aid for the fall term was
held at the home of Mrs, Wm.
C.. King in the form of a Pot
Luck Supper.

meeting Was held first, with. the
president, Mrs. George Evans in
