veloping child.
The treatment, therefore; is to
determine why the body is de-
ficient of iron, and remedy the

until the supply is replenished.
Secondary unaemia is the
anaemia which occurs in patients
with infections, kidney diseas-
es, arthritis, canoe" and so on.
The treatment for this anaemia is
the treatment of these diseases.
Neither of these anaemias is
helped by vitamin 13-12 -in fact
the anaemias helped ny treat-
ment wilh 13-12 are rather un-
common. The most frequently
seen is pernicion8 anaemia, for
which 13-12 is all excellent treat-
tn. ont. But even pernicious anae-,
inia is quite uncommon compared
vigil the (secondary , anaemias
and the blood loss anaemias.

The Canadian. Medical Assoc-
iation reports that there are
three common types of anaemia

fleet intake of iron in the diet
or of absorption from the diges-
