James P. Elston, died, suddenly,
at his home in Morris Township,
on Sunday. He was 40 years of
age.
He had served as the 1965
chairman of the Morris Town-
ship school area beard and land
been re-elected to that poeition at
the January 7th meeting of the
hoard,
He is survived by his wife,
the former Marie Sellers; a son,
Larry, and a daughter Dionne,
both at home; his mother. Mrs.
William Eitston, Wingham; two
brothers, William, Morris Two.;
Edwin Arra ; stela-brother, Bern-
ard Thomas, Morris Twp,
The funeral was held on Wed-
nesday at 2:00 p.m: from the

The annual meeting of the
Brussels Branch or the Canadian
'Bible Society was neid in Mel-
ville presbyterian Church, Brus-
sels on January 9th, 1966.
The Treasurer reported that

Garry, who wes in his twenty-
third year, was the eon of Mr.
and Mrs. Eldon Wilson.
Ile is survived by hie parents,
three sisters, Mrs. .Tack amen.
Merrier, Mayfield; Mrs. Jim
(Helen) Fisher, RR 4, -Goderiche.
Gale, nurse-in-training- at
Mary's Hospital, Kitchener; and
two brothers, Frank, Brussels and
Scott at home; also his grand-
mother, Mrs. F.• Beeson of Brus-
sels. •
The funerel was held on Satnr-
day,' January 8th from the D. A.
Rana funeral home, Mussels,

officiating.

Gilbert E. Speir, 83, died
Monday at Huronview. Clinton.
The son of the late Mr. and
nfre. Allan Spelt he farmed in
Morris Township until he retired,
nfe was unmarried. A, member of
the Brossels United Church, he
was also a devoted member and
active worker in the Brussels
branch of the Canadian Bible
Society.
He is survived by two brothers,
Norman of Clinton and Allan
of Toronto; two sisters, Mrs.
Mary Work of London and Mrs.
Gordon Walsh of T3elgra,ve.
The funeral service was held
from the D. A. Bann funeral
hom e, Brussels, on. Wednesday
at 2 p,m. The service was con-
ducted by the .Rev. Allan John-
ston of Brussels TTnited Church.
Burial took place In Brussels

Village Council for the year 1966
was held In the Municipal Office
On January 10th with all memb-
ers present.
Tne declarations of office were
Laken by the Clerk, after which
Reverend Johnston of the United
Church spoke to Council, exemp-
lifying the life of man in Rural
Communities. Reeve 3. Calvin
Kreuter thanked Mr. Johnston.
A welcome was extended to Mrs.
Edna Procter as the new Clerk
and a thank you to Wm. H. King
for past services,

village, with the math protect
being the digging and beck-filling
of streets in preparation for
Paving in a few years time.
The Ontario Water Resourees
Commission has recommended
that the council consider the
the installation of a sewage col-
lection and disposal system to be
undertaken in two or three years
time, and the members of council
realise that this should attract a
few small industries to locate
here.
