second annual Ontario Par
tournament will take place at Lift-
lock Golfiand in Peterborough.
The 36-hole affair is -open to all
men and women and has $1,000.00
in prizes.
Garry Cowan of Kitchener was
the winner of the Carling totem
Pole trophy when he shot, a three-
over-par total of -111. The former
Canadian Amateur, muunplon ad-
nutted par 3• golf was a new ex-
perience and- prove it's the short
shots that count.
Emphasis is on net. scoring
however, which means women
have as good a chance to grab a
prize as a man. In fact, most or
the femmes are better, chipper
and putters than the men.
