WINTER WHEAT
CROP SALE
Price and terms of purchase
and sale have been negotiated
between representatives of the
Ontario -Wheat Producers' Mar-
keting Board, wheat dealers and
processors for the 1965 winter
wheat crop.
Russell T. Bolton, RR 1, Sea-
forth, chairman of the market-
ing board and a member of the
board's negotiating committee,
said there will be no eharvi ,
from last year in the agreed
minimum prices to be paid to
producers.
Prices remain at $1.65 per
bushel delivered. for grade No.
1 and No. 2; $1,62 for grade
No, 3. A . _and $1:30 for grades No
4. and No, 5 and grades No. 1
and No. 2 mixed wheat .and .
wheat. grading lower due to ex-
cessive '.sprouting • and low
weight. • • "• • •
Under the escalator clause of
the .agreement, starting in . ac-
tober 1965,, the minimum price
will increase 2 cents per bushel
per month up. to and 'including
the month of FebrUary :1966,
for an' increase of ..10 cents per
bushel over the basic $1.65.
The minimum will remain at
the $1.75 levet through March
and April, then drop 5 cents
per bushel in May and again in
June, returning to $1.65.
The minimum prices to the
producer is subject to . 'maxi-
mum moisture discounts set
down in the agreement, a one
cent per bushel licence fee and
a stabilization levy to be set
by the board at a later date,
(Last year the stabilization levy
was 15 cents per bushel).
Although not part of the ne-
gotiated agreement, the board
also announced that it will
again purchase surplus wheat
from dealers during the 1965-
66 marketing year under the
same purchase agreement as
that for last year.
T h e negotiated marketing.
agreement covers wheat sold
during the period July 1, 1965,
to June 30; 1966.
