Thieves Busy
Here, Again
Grant's Shoe Store was oroken
into and a number of shoes and
men's pants stolen.
The break-in and theft occur-
red in the early hours of Satur-
day morning. Autry was gained
by smashing the glass in the
front door of the building.
rive pair of the stolen shoes
were recovered when a car p
stolen from the drive-way of
the home of Gordon Stiles, the
same night, was found south east
of Brucefield, on Saturday night.
Apparently the thief, or thieves,
abandoned the car when it ran
out of gas.
The Stiles' car was still in
their drive-way between two and
three a.m. Saturday morning. It
is believed the break-in of the
Grant store took place between
four and four thirty a.m. .
It appeared that the guilty
party meant to be well shod as
several pair of Deck shoes were
among his loot, but when he was
forced to leave the car he left
some of the shoes behind.
The O.P.P. of the Wingham
detachment investigated.
The following night the Brus-
sels Creamery and Topnotch
Feed Were both forcibly entered
but little of value was taken.
Some time previously the CNR
station here was also broken into.
