Bursaries
Planned
By Huron
Beginning this fall, Huron
County Councill will provide
S100 bursaries to six students
from the County who are at-
tending or plan to attena the
University of Waterloo.
The bursaries are for stu-
dents with good academic re-
cords who are in need of fi-
nancial assistance to enable
them to continue their studies
at the university level.
The bursary assistance for
the university was confirmed by
Warden Ralph Jewell thisweek.
"We are most pleased that
Huron County is taking this
leadership in helping deserving
students to finance their educa-
tion," said Dr. J. G. Hagey,
President, University of Water-
loo. "During the past year
there were 38 students from.
Huron County enrolled at the
University and we know there
will be several more this fall.
We are living in an age in
which the role of education has
taken on a new dimension. It
is the responsibility of all of
us to insure that every quali-
fied student is able to continue
his education."
