a car When you are tired it a danger-
bus highway habit. You cannot drive safely
in modern traffic if your reflexes are slow
and your eyes are half closed, if you feel.
Weary---pull off the road and take a rest.
The idea was so good that 'the young
people swept their parents along with them,
and farm life improved amazingly.
4-H Clubs have dohe many useful things.
They have kept the right boys and girls on
the farm, trained young men and women
for leadership, improved life in rural Cora.,
mtinitieS by introducing better agricultural
and home practices, and implanted the
ideal of` good citizenship in young minds,
There are about 75,000 4-H Members iri
Canada, Many will graduate into farm
organizations in which are the progressive
young. farmers Who—by Using modern
machinery and farm techniques —help to
keep all Canadians well fed.
The two-year-old in his play-pen is
fascinated by life around him. He longs to
pull the tail feathers out of every chicken
on his father's farm. •He has no idea at all
how a farmer's son should behave, but he'll
find out, later, when his brothers initiate
him into the local 4-H club.
Here he'll learn by doing, pledged to use
his head, heart, hands and health in the
best possible way.
4-H Clubs were started with one simple
idea in mind: to have rural young people
do a worthwhile piece of work at home,
voluntarily, and do it better' than ever
before. Plant a garden plot, perhaps, or
raise a calf, make a dress, beautify a room. HOW 'GOOD ARE,
