GRACIOUS LIVING.
An elderly Scotchman had a whim-
sical expression; "Children used to
be raised on oatmeal and the Bible,
now they are raised on corn-flakes
and Eaton's catalogue." "Gracious
Living" of a century ago was mostly
frugal, sometimes limited by econ-
omy and often sacrificial. But it al-
ways included reverence for God,
respect for others' need and reliance
on the, word of God. Remember Ror\
beet Burn's poem "The Cotters'
Saturday night?" The father of the
home „with ..his family „about him
after supper is done, ta:-reat down the.
