The Brussels 4-H Calf Club
held their annual bus trip on
July 29 when they visited
Shur Gain Farms at Maple
and the Metro Toronto Zoo.
During the trip, draws
were made. Jim Durnin of
R.R. 6 Goderich won first
prize of a $70 voucher from
Oldfield's Pro Hardware. Se-
cond prize also went to a
Goderich area man, Larry
Essex, who received a $20
La Leche League of Bel-
grave met at the home of Mrs.
Colleen Schenk to discuss the
fourth topic in the series of
meetings, Nutrition and
Weaning.
Wendy Neufeld, Librarian
introduced three new books
to the mothers, which had
been obtained at the 8th
International Conference of
La Leche League in Chicago
by Mrs. Barbara Kerr, Lead-
er. "Organic Cooking for (not
so organic) Mothers" by
M.A. Bunigarner was praised
for its interesting food facts
and easy recipes. For refresh-
ments later everyone enjoyed
eating the meusli, made with
one of the recipes in this
book. "Breast is Best" was
written by a husband and wife
Doctor team, and was pre-
sented as a good resource
grocery voucher 'at Stephen-
son's Grocery Store. The
third prize of $20 of gas from
J.R. Gasbar went to G.
Janmaat of Holland.
The 4-H Calf Club thanks
those who bought tickets and
helped to make the bus trip a
success, prize donors and
chaperones, Leader Neil and
Donna Hemingway.
