Camp Queen, a 9-yr. old trotting mare owned by Glenn
Smith of Brussels won her 4th straight triumph in Elmira on
Fri. Aug. 21 in the $2,000 invitation.
She won the race in 2.05, two-fifths of a second off her
own track record, Camp Queen currently holds the track
record for aged mares at both London and Flamboro as well
as all-age mark in Elmira.,
This was Camp Queen's 10th win in 25 starts, Her. career
total winnings stand at $97,918.
Cam' Queen was purchased for $600 and her biggest
payment was in Windsor when she picked up $2,600.
A BIG BANG — This is what was left of the
auditorium at Huronview south of Clinton
Thursday after gasoline fumes from a ruptured
pipe exploded, sending 11 people to' hospital.
No one was seriously,injured, but damage to the
building and its contents is estimated to be in
the $500,000 range. Two people remain in
hospital, but are listed in satisfactory condition.

after Huronview explosion

Two women • remain in hospital as a
result of the explosion that caused an
estimated $500,000 damage in Clinton at the
Huron County home for the aged (Huronview)
last Thursday afternoon. Day-care activities
director Sandra Davidson of Goderich, and
day-care participant Veral Thiel of Zurich
were both still listed in satisfactory condition
at Clinton Public Hospital Tuesday morning.

A Minister who brought a lot of new ideas
to the charges he served is leaving the
BrusSels area.
Rev. Dan Sargent, who at one point was
kept busy looking after four Anglican
churches in the communities of Brussels,
Blyth, Elelgrave and Auburn is going to St.
Stephen's Anglican Church in London which
will have about 500 families compared to the
70 he served in BrusSels.

Entries bloom at flower show Oat
The weather man cooperated very well for
the Annual Plower Show .and Turkey and
Ham Supper of the Brussels and District
Horticultural Society on Wed. Aug. 19. The
quantity of flowers Was doWn a little from last
year but the quality was good.
