School. At 12:00 o'clock a
gigantic parade will start at
the Fordwich Fair grounds
and wind its way to the new
Howick Community Centre.
Many bands, cars and other
attractions have been booked
for the parade including the
only steam powered calliope
in Canada. Parade chairman
John Brown, Gorric,
335-3200 has $1200.00 set
aside For prize money, along
with many trophies and
plaques for the 16 categories
in the parade. Parade entry
forms may be obtained at the
local banks. businesses or
from John Brown,
Opening ceremonies will
be conducted by overall
chairma 1. Gordon K aster

M.P. Murray Elston. A band
tattoo and many sports activ-
ities including a tug-of-war
will take place outside.

Church Women on Monday,
May 4 at 8:15 p.m. Mrs.
Robt. Edgar, Mrs. Bill Nay
and Miss Margaret Dane
were in charge of the devo-
tional period with
"Mothers" as the theme.
Mrs. George Brown, Pres.
conducted the business.
Mrs. Ivan Haskins read the
minutes and Mrs. J. Sim-
mons gave the treasurer's
report. Plans were made for
visits to the Fordwich Nurs-
ing Home, Midwestern Re-
gional Centre, the Garden
Party on June 9 and the
Spring Bale.
Mrs. Bill Nay auctioned
the plant and bake sale
items. The sale was quite
successful.
Lunch was served by the
hostess and the program
committee.
