Mrs. Stuart McNair opened the meeting with "Patience" and called this family unity month. Following a hymn a reading on "Home, all our roots in everything come from "Home". The scripture reading from Ephesians was read in unison. A prayer of thanksgiving, then Mrs. McNair read "Lord creating Mothers," by Erma Brom- beck. Mrs. Wilfred Strickler in her topic told of the work of Millie Stamm, National Prayer Secretary and Author. She stressed the four P's. 1. Special person. 2. Special plan for us. 3. Picture, a special frame for each of us to fill. 4. Priority list, what comes first in our lives. Members were asked to remember the Pope in their prayers. Roll, call was a mother from the Bible. Seventeen were present. Mrs. Strickler will be hostess for June and a report on the June Conference will be given. Mrs. Stanley Fisch- er was presented with a gift prior to her moving to Listowel. Lunch was served by Mrs. Strickler, Mrs. Tom Stevenson and the hostess. The May meeting of the W.I. was held at the home of Mrs. John Vanass with 17 members present. Also to stay away from worry about Atrazine carryover, use one of the combinations that does. not have Atrazine in it the last year of corn. The items from the crewel embroidery course were on display, also the "History kit and stories" which will be entered in the FWIC Tweedsmuir competition. An invitation to Walton W.I. to their 25th ann. on May 28 was received. Mrs. Tom Baker, Mrs. Jack Cox and Mrs. Bob Locking were voting delegates to the Dis- trice Annual at Bluevale on May 12 and courtesy remarks were given by Mrs. Leslie Knight. Lunch was served by Mrs. Ken Miller and Mrs. Gordon Engel. Mrs. M. Burghardt is a patient in Listowel Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dennis and family, Cobourg, were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs.. Lloyd Smith and family. On Friday, May 22 at 8:30 p.m. at Cranbrook Commun- ity Hall a meeting will be held to organize baseball for our young people for the coming season. Volunteers are needed to organize and supervise. We urge all inter- ested parents to attend.
