Atoms win! People we know
Brussels Atom hockey
team travelled to a tourna-
ment in South ampton on
the weekend and came home
Consolation Champions.
They lost their first game
4.1 against Drayton, and
then won against Chesley
and Tara in the final game.
Goal scorers for the day
were Steven Wheeler, Dean
Nicholson, Jeff Earl, and Ian
Johnston.
Mr. Barry McCauley
and Diana Maxwell of Strat-
ford spent Friday afternoon
at the home of his grand-
mother, Mrs. Ethel Bone and
his mother Mrs. Dorothy
McCauley and also attended
the Jack Pennington funeral.
Gordon Stiles is a patient
in the Stratford General
Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs, Harvey,
Carrick were honoured by a
surprise anniversary and
birthday dinner party in
Linwood, Saturday. Those
present were Mr. and Mrs.

9 and defeated the home
team by a score of 6-4 to take
a lead in the series, three
points to one in the best of
three with the next game
played in Brussels on Feb-
ruary 15. Brussels won 5-3 to
put Lucknow out and the
team now goes on to play
Paisley.

A large area of Huron
County, bounded by Goder-
ich. Wingham, Dublin and
gas projects now - in oper-
ation. One of the largest, at
Hooker, Oklahoma, was pro-
ducing enough gas to supply
the needs of 4,500 homes in a
Chicago suburb. Experi-
ments at the large plant were
also being carried out to
clean the liquid waste as it
went through the system, to
be re-fed to cattle on a
nearby beef feedlot.
In a question and answer
period at the end of the
seminar, Prof. Pos warned
there's no use in farmers
producing methane if they
haven't a use for the gas on
their farm.
At the end of the daylong
seminar, sponsored by
OMAF, agricultural engin-
eers Rom Fleming and Sam
Bradshaw concluded with a
general discussion of alter-
nate energy uses on the
farm.

Bob Marshall is the coord-
inator of special needs at the
Vanastra Recreation Centre.
A graduate from the Univer-
sity of Waterloo, and origin-
ally from Kirkton, he has
had considerable experience
in recreation for special
groups.
Sandi Fremlin is the pro-
gram coordinator of the
Outreach Project. Sandi, a
Clintonian i has worked in
various capacities at the Rec-
reation Centre and with the
Day Care Program at Huron-
view.

special contribution to the
International Year of the

third and final draw for the
season of mixed curling.
Everyone changed teams
so that if a person wasn't on
a winning team, they would
'have another chance this
draw. It is not always the
skip who wins or loses the
game. =Sometimes a good
lead will decide the course of
a game. Whatever the com-
bination, it is teamwork that
really counts.
