La leche League meets LLL Belgrave held its se- cond meeting in the series at the home of Mrs. Leslie Martin, Wingham with wo- men attending from Wing- ham, Belgrave, Lucknow, Goderich, and Paiiley. Mrs. Barbara Kerr wel- comed the mothers and ba- bies, and asked for introduct- ions and a fact or fiction about La Leche League. Many facets of LLL were brought out, some serious and some humorous, but the msot important function of • LLI, was mentioned as pro- viding information and en- couragement to nursing mothers. Personal experiences con- cerning breastfeeding were related in order to give helpful hints for mothers and babies learning to breast- feed. Difficulties which may be encountered while nurs- ing were described. It was emphasized that these diffi- culties could be prevented by proper management,, and if encountered, could be over- come with advice from the Professional Advisory Board of LLL. The mothers were made aware of the recom- mendations made by the Canadian. Paediatric Society on Family Centered Perinatal Care. Following the discussion, I Mrs. Liliane Nolan introduc- ed two new books to the library. 81,05, Thirty-one heifers consign- ed by.
