(Photo by Langiols) Obituaries MRS. GRETA MILLIGAN Mrs. Greta Milligan, wife of late John R. Milligan passed away suddenly at her residence in Clifford, Ontario September 17, 1980 in her 71st year. Mrs. Milligan was the former Greta Pearl Burgess of Brussels, Ontario, daughter of the late Jim and Ellen Burgess. . She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lillian Cox of Huron View, Clinton , and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. The funeral was held Friday, September 19, from Garrett funeral home Clifford. Services were conducted by Rev. Ann Rossi the of United Church. Interment in Clifford Cemertery. STELLA NETHERY Stella Nethery of Belgrave died at Wingham and Dis- trict Hospital on Friday, September 19. She was 91. Mies Nethery was born in Moms Township and at- tended S.S. No.. 3 in East Wawanosh before moving to Saskatchewan in 1912. to attend Normal .School. In her early years as a teacher she taught high school in Ontario and later taught at the University of Saskatchewan. She retired to Beigrave in 1952. She was a member of Trinity United Church in Belgrave. Miss Nethery is survived by one sister, Mrs. Clarence Wade (Mary) of Wingham and two brothers, Abner of Wingham and Herman of Blytho She was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers. • Reverend John Swan officiated at the funeral ser- vice which was held Sept. 22 at the Currie-Walker Funeral. Home in Wingham. Burial followed at the , Brandon Cemetery in Belgrave. Pallbearers were Terry Nethery, Alex Nethery, Bud Cruickshank, Clare Van Camp, Glen Van Camp and Edgar Wightman. Flower bearers were Bert Garnigs and Bert Johnston. B.F. KING Benjamin Fraser King, 84 of Ethel died Tuesday, September 16 at the Huron- view Nursing Home in Clint- on. He was a farmer in Grey Township and was prede- • ceased by 'a sister, Mrs. Edith Grainger, and three brothers, Edwiy. Alec, and Russel King. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Eva Hawes of Ottawa, Mrs. Sybil Van Fleet of Brantford and one brother Alpheus of Brantford. A funeral service was held from the M.L. Watts Funeral Home in Brussels on Thurs- day, September 18 with Rev. Len Flex of the Wingham Bible Chapel officiating. Burial followed in the Moles- worth cemetery. Pallbearers were Graeme MtDonald, Bill King Jr..Ross Cunningham, Howard Savage, Bill Eckmier and Ben Hayden. CLEMENTS STEFFLER Clements Steffler, 81, of Brussels died in Victoria Hospital, London on Sundayi September 21. Surviving are his wife the Correspondent MRS. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gris- dale 'and family visited for several days with friends at North Bay. former. Annie Hallahan of Brussels, a daughter Mrs. John (Anne) Doherty of Goderich and three sons, Clem of Fairview, Alberta; Jim of Wingham and Joe of Walton. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, a sister Amelia May of Kitchener and a brother, Neil of Teeswater. He was pre- deceased by one son Louis. The body was at the M.L. Watts Funeral Home, Brussels Chapel. until Wed- nesday morning when re- moval was to be made to St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Brussels for a mass of the Christian Burial with burial to follow in St. Ambrose Roman Catholic cemetery. Mr. Steffler was an active member of the Brussels Agricultural Society and farmed in the Cranbrook area at one time. Donations were to be made to the Terry Fox Research Fund of the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy. New Brown Owl welcomed Eight members were present on September 17th for the first Brownie and Guide meeting of the season. Members discussed having a Bake Sale to raise money for the Brownie Foster Child. It was decided to again have a booth at the Flea Market. The new Brown Owl, Marlene Cowie, was we- lcomed and the meeting was adjourned. Brussels Optimists held' . another successful Brussels feet Saturday with 500 people enjoying the beef barbecue. Doug Procter of Brussels was the winner of, the door prize and Shirley. Hunter of Brussels was the winner of the draw. A box was set up for donations for the Terry Fox cancer research fund, but it' is not yet known how much money was taken in. Mrs.• Ida Gordon visited relatives in Cleveland.
