ALLAN MCCALL .887..6677 On Wednesday 'evening, April 10, the annual meeting of the Walton Women's Institute 'began.. with a smorgasbord at the Triple K, Blyth: 32 members attended. Rosiness was chaired by President, Mrs. ' Harold Hudie, Minutes of the last annual meeting were read by Mrs. Jim Axtmann, followed by the financial report. The roll call was, answered by the payment of fees, and the exchange of a gift to sunshine sisters for the past year.. New sunshine sisters picked for another year with Mrs; Stewart Humphries in charge. For the district annual 'meeting on May 13 in V,Vroxeter, delegates are Mrs. Keith Rock, Mrs. Allan McCall, Mrs. Gerald Watson and Mrs. George McCall. All members are urged to attend. Tables and chairs are to stay in , the hall. Speaker's fees to be the same as last year but the hall rent li`,as been raised to $25. Hall board members same as before. Donations of $10 were made to the Brussels,Fair Boad and $500 to the park recreation committee. Caretakers Harold and Mrs. Bolger will be paid $200 for their work this past year. Reports were given of the Standing Committee convenors-Agriculture and Canadian Industries-Mrs. Gerald Watson; Citizenship and World Affairs-Mrs. Keith Rock; Family and Consumer Affairs, Mrs. Frank Kirkby; Educational and Cultural Affairs-Mrs. Harold Bolger; Resolutions Mrs. Dave Watson. Mrs. Ron Bennett reported for the Public Relations officer in the absence of Mrs. Don McDonald. Mrs. Nelson Reid gave the curator report and Mrs. Harvey Craig the auditor& report. It was decided to have just the three branch directors. Mrs. Alvin- Mcdonald installed the officers and conveners for the coming year. Those with perfect' attendance were Mrs. Jim. Axtmann, Mrs. Harold Bolger, Mrs, Viola Kirkby, Mrs. Allan McCall, Mrs. Dave Watson, Mrs. Ernie Stevens and Mrs. Keith Rock. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Ken Moffett and Brett of Strat- ford spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Traviss. Mrs. Ken McDonald spent a week With Mr. and Mrs. Robert Warwick Michael and . Kendrea at Calgary, ''Alta.. Miss Teresa Ryan, R.N. of London' visited' recently with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ryan and other relatives irr the community. Monday was a holiday for the children at the schools, as it was a professional development day. A few of Michael Axtmann's friends helped him celebrate his eighth birthday, April V at his parents home, during the day on Monday. Mrs. - Olene. Stutz '„ and Natasha „,,,visited on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Torrance Dundas. Mr. and Mrs. Roily Achilles visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.. William Taylor and family of Lucknow. Mr. Allan McCall was a patient in University Hospital, London and expects to be able to return to his home on. Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bennett went with the other Brussels band ,members to the Wingham sister city over the weekend: Mrs. Jack- Nelemans has been .a patient in the University Hospital, London for the past few:weeks. We hope she, is soon much improved. Mrs. Jim Shortreed was an honored, guest at. the Wed- ding of her grandson, Gerald Smith and Janet Cornish, both of Mitchell, at the Presbyterian Church there on Saturday, April 26th. The dinner and reception was held later at the Crystal Palace in Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. .-Ken Shortreed and family also attended,. •
