Columbia.

Unborn". He says that the
unborn have intellect and
emotions of their own.
Pro-Life group to
purchase new film
A nursing shortage in
other parts of Canada
prompted Conestoga College
to organize a Canadian Nurse
Job Fair for its 1980
graduating nurses.
The fair, which is hosted
by the College's Career
Planning and Placement
Office, will have re-
presentatives from
Basic Knit Fabrics and.
Advanced. Knits will
taught by Mrs. M. Divok, of
Clinton and Beginners Golf
Will again be offered on
some parts of Canada there
were actually some real staff
shortages.
The job fair, which will, be
held March 23 at the Valhalla
Inn in Kitchener, was
planned to accomodate
this need.
"Canadian . hospitals,
unable to meet their nursing
needs with graduates from
their local colleges and
universities, are having to
recruit from outside their
area," Mrs. Russell said.
The placement officer said
the purpose of the job fair is
to allow graduating students,
their parents and teachers, to
meet - with directors of
nursing and adminiStrators
from hiring hospitals and to
discuss nursing
opportunities in a variety of
locales. The focus will .be on
informaton-sharing and

stated that Statistics Canada
reported that the number of
ther apeutic abortions in
1978 increased by 8.2% over
the previous year. In 1977
the number of abortions in
Canada totalled 57,564. Lait
year the figure jumped to
62,290.
In 1977 the Vancouver
General Hospital alone per-
formed 3,972 abortions
compared with 2,360 live
births.
New Business: The
Wingham and Goderich pro-
life groups will be pur-
chasing two films "Love is a
One Way Street" and-Should
We or Shouldn't We" for
educational purposes. Also a
human development set was
ordered. They are fetus
models beginning with one
month old fetus and up. It
will be used for health
clinics, fairs, and lots' of
other functions.
Upcoming Events: A
Southwestern, Pro-Life con-
ference to be held in April in
Mississauga. The Sixth
Annual Banquet is to be held
April 23rd in the Windham
Legion Hall. The St.
Patrick's Raffle draw will be
on March 11th; 1st Prize a
real French Provincial
Ceramic Clock; 2nd prize two
cer amic leprechauns; 3rd
prize a kettle of shamrocks.
